Ver nice DIY plug and play device
Works best with Volumio, in my opinion. With Volumio and the audiophonics-volumio-plugin, it is possible for me to skip tracks, control volume and shutting down proper with the remote control. Sound is very good - better than Topping DX3pro+, imo.
I paired it with pi3B+, 1GB RAM. Works fine! I build a case out of thin wood plates. Now, got a very good all-in-one STREAMER/DAC for 260 Euro!!! Nice!

But please Audiophonics-Team, make a big HINT in Github, that the old procedure of changing the kernel of raspy in order to get the I-Sabre-driver working, is NOT necessary anymore, because it is implemented in the newer os versions. That costs me hours of work, when i prepared a OS for plexamp!!!

Emballage un p
Pour ce type de produit haut de gamme, je m'attendais à le voir fourni dans une boite et avec un guide d'utilisation et de branchement. J'ai donc été déçu de le voir emballé dans une enveloppe à bulles entourée d'une feuille de carton et sans aucun document d'accompagnement (heureusement il y a de la documentation sur le site). Donc emballage robuste mais pas très "classe" pour ce produit "Hi-Tech". Sinon, le produit à l'air de qualité.

Très satisfait
Très pratique à l’usage , à l’écoute je l’ai trouvé très ”vivant” belle dynamique, je le préfère à mon ex auralic pour beaucoup moins chère en prime.

Good but could be better
I bought this DAC and a Linear Power Supply, initially I had some trouble with the power supply but now it works well. I had to pay the assistance, Audiophonics team said that everything was ok, but I sent a non-working things and received back a working one... But all's well that ends well, as the old boot said.

The main problem is that the Pi isn't shutdown well.

I bought this to substitute a Cocktail Audio, looking for a better sound.
The usability feature on the cocktail audio are better, the touchscreen and the interface are very well made. I hoped that this could be like the Cambridge Audio but the only way to use Raspberry with Volumio is through another interface.
The remote control and the knob aren't useless to navigate inside the library.
The sound of the DAC is good, better than Cocktail Audio.
The unclean poweroff of the Pi is the biggest minus.

I didn't understand if there is one or more pin of Raspberry GPIO available for custom usage.

Très bon DAC, presque plug and play avec RPI, configuration en deux clics.
Niveau audio une belle qualité mais qui nécessite de pousser un peu le volume, commun pour deux nombreux DAC. Couplé avec Moode et un ampli rega +dali zensor. La 5e étoile sera lorsqu'une solution de shutdown du RPI sera intégrée, et la 6ième lorsqu'il sera possible de ne pas lancer automatiquement le RPI. En effet, si vous utilisez le bluetooth par exemple, la dernière source est mémorisée, mais le RPI sera lancer quand même avec l'alimentation de la carte. Le paramètre idéal serait que le RPI soit alimenté uniquement lorsque la source RPI est sélectionnée. A suivre

tres bon module. J'avais précédemment un DAC allo katana. J'ai surtout testé l'entrée RPI. Je trouve ce DAC légèrement meilleur que le katana bien qu'éventuellement moins précis/analytique (le katana était a cet égard surprenant mais fatiguant). Ici la sonorité est douce, enrobée, mais le son de chaque instrument rest bien distinct. Certaine personnes pourraient éventuellement lui reprocher un leger manque de percutant (probablement le prix a payer pour avoir un son si velouté). Les sorties XLR ont un niveau sonore bien plus important que les sorties RCA et limitent ce manque de percutant.
J'ai essayé le BT en lecture video, je pense que ce n'est pas aptx car il y avait un décalage important. Je n'ai pas essayé de regler volumio ni de passer sur mood pour regler cette latence. C'est peut etre faisable.

Nice sounding versatile DAC board
I use this board inside the appropriate case (sold seperately), together with two displays and a RPi4.

Pros:
Nice sound quality
Versatile inputs
Volume control with almost no sound degrade.
Remote control signals are also passed to the Pi.

Cons:
No graceful shutdown of Raspberry Pi when pressing the off button on the case or on the remote control.
Volume is not remembered when completely powered of (plug pulled).

I would give it a full 5 star review if it also had a graceful shutdown function for the Pi. For my purpose this is needed for I am not using a Pi with a readonly OS and need to store settings on the SD card just before closing down. Now when pressing the Off button the power to the Pi is simply cut when the Pi is just powered by the DAC board.
Therefore: 3 stars.

Superbe
Couplé avec raspi 4 , superbe et en xlr sur mon pré ampli Emotiva rmc1 , mes Dynaudio c2 non jamais aussi bien sonné . Les musique Hi-rEs sur Quobuz, une pure merveille . Et super service d’Audiophonics . Ne pas hésiter avec le boîtier dédié de très bonne qualité.

First Impression
a first look at.

Since there is no case yet, I tinkered a paper case to put the mainboard in and the display at the side.
Mounting the RPI 4 is very easy and the drilling holes are exactly at the right place to mount it to the main board.
Power on gives a red glowing on/off button at the front.
Push it and the AUDIOPHONICS logo appears on the display (nice!), filter setting is displayed for a while and the volume setting in %.
Finally you see: unlock.
Now RPI must know what DAC is used.
In Moode: (Moodeaudio.org)
Go to M (menu, upper right)
Configure - audio - I2S audio device
A bunch of AUDIOPHONICS dacs appear:
I selected 2 of them where ES9038 is listed, both work!
Then you can edit the chip/device options: choose 7 oversampling filters, ofcourse all works!
But listening tests will determine which suits you best.
Starting playback in the browser window on my phone.
Immediately the frequency in KHz. is displayed, and the music is playing.
All sound well on my headphone.
I shut the power down.
At the RCA connectors I plugged in 2 monoblock amplifiers, which are under my floorstanding speakers.
For safety I did not power them on.
Again I pushed the red glowing button on the front.
Exactly the same happened at above.
Then I see: 100%. That is the volume setting! So I put the volume knob down to 10% and powered the monoblocks.
All sound well and the remote control works fine for the volume.
Additional knobs are for RPI commands like play/stop and next/previous.
I have to get lirc (Linux Infrared Remote Control) on the RPI, so it communicates directly with the infrared led at the front!
The first impression of the sound is that the speakers seem to disappear and the sound is very broad, even outside left and right.
Connecting my TV to optical toslink shows that the latency is very low, and that is Top Class!
So far, so good. Today the case is visible on the website, its a beauty! I have it on my wishlist already.
