Gives a very natural sound
Comparing the Linear Power Supply (LPS) to an IFI Power X powering my streamer:
A bit more subtleties, details and especially more natural. For example different voices are easier to seperate. Emotions in the music are easier conveyed.
Because music sounds apparently less loud, I can turn up the volume higher, yet without getting any listening fatigue.
These small but important improvements brought by this LPS, makes me want to listen, not analytical but for sheer pleasure.

Best performance/price ratio ever
I recently purchased one of these beauties for a customer who is very sensitive to radiation of all sorts and looked for a noise-free replacement for the switching power supply that came with his Squeezebox Classic streamer.
First I went for the ubiquitous Teradak DC-30 but then found out that all sources to buy one are in China. Looked around some more and was amazed to find that there is a French company selling a similar PSU for even less! The ordering process was hassle-free and straightforward. Took less than a week to have it here.
Unfortunately I had only very little time to check it out, but I really like what I see.
I need to emphasize that I don't consider myself an audiophile, I am more focused on things that I can feel and measure. Therefore, I won't share any audition results and comparisons between this PSU and others regarding the sound quality. Sorry folks.

** Case **
The build quality is superb all over. Nice anodized aluminium case, thick front panel, the back panel is also aluminium, everything fits exactly, it's heavy and solid. Chunky IEC power connector, indicator LEDs on the front (white) and back (green). It's a beauty to behold.

** Inside **
Inside things go on like that. Heavy duty toroidal transformer, massively oversized, discrete rectification, four Nichicon electrolytic capacitors, 4700µF/40V each to reduce any ripple, very clean PCB layout. Not a single wire. No flux residue anywhere, it's just as clean as it could ever be.

** Measurements **
There is not much to say about the output. It's absolutely flat 5VDC with no ripple or distortion whatsoever. Even under load this won't change. I hooked up three Squeezebox Classic with a consumption of around 6 to 7 Watts each. Even though this is close to the maximum specified, the PSU had no trouble serving them all the cleanest power. The peak power drawn from the 230V supply was ~34W so it appears that the PSU will consume around 4W for itself per output used. Haven't had the time to play around with smaller loads but I assume this is in relation to the power demands of the consuming device.
Power factor is close to 0.9 which I consider good, not stellar but a lot better than the typical switching power supplies.
Power consumption is shown with 0.0 Watts on the HOPI meter when the PSU is on but nothing is connected! Wow!
The three outputs are joined together but there is so much power available at any time that the consuming devices won't affect each other. This might be different if one emits extreme amounts of distortion, but then such units are best isolated from others and not supplied on the same power rail. Not a fault of this device in any case.

** More Observations **
The unit produces a good amount of warmth so it should not be used in tight spaces with little air around. It's far from red hot though.
There is a fuse inside, protecting the primary side of the transformer. In case it is blown it's just a matter of lifting the top lid and putting in a new one. However, I would have preferred a more accessible place for the fuse, somewhere on the back panel.
The LEDs are just poking through their respective panel, they are not fixed so it's possible to push them in. All that holds them is their own two legs. Not a major concern though, considering the price this is a tiny compromise.
The USB ports don't have a lot of grabbing force. It is rather easy to pull out USB connectors. A bit more spring tension wouldn't hurt.
Although I ordered only a PSU, there was also a 5.5/2.1mm cable delivered along. Nice touch, guys, and very appreciated!

** Summary **
This is an amazing piece of kit, unexpectedly well-built considering the budget price. I think this little thing can compete with PSUs in the price range of 400 to 500 EUR. Much of that goes into the brand names, not the values inside. A lot of attention was paid here, and all pieces that count are well done.
I will recommend this unit, and Audiophonics overall, to anyone who is interested in enhancing their audio equipment and musical experience.

Just stunning! Incredible performance for the money

Excellents résultats audio
Je recherchai une alimentation 5v cc pour remplacer l’alimentation d’origine à découpage d’un streamer audio. Convaincu de l’amelioration apportée par une alimentation linéaire régulée et filtrée sur des équipements audio analogiques, s’agissant exclusivement d’un streamer donc de circuits numériques j’étais pour le moins dubitatif…
Dans un premier temps j’ai remplacé provisoirement mon alimentation à découpage d’origine (5v 5w) par le chargeur d’origine de la marque à la pomme de l’IPad 6 ( 5v 10w) , dispositif également à découpage et là déjà, l’écoute a très nettement gagnée en définition, dynamisme, présence des basses et réalisme des médiums.
J’ai donc décidé d’acquérir sur les conseils avisés du service clients d’Audiophonics, cette alimentation 5V 25VA filtrée et régulée…
Une fois installée, là encore une étape a été franchie par rapport au chargeur de l’IPad 6, à savoir:
- Basses nettement plus profondes et mieux définies,
-Médiums et hauts médiums plus présents, plus détaillés et timbres plus justes
-Aiguës légèrement accrus et détaillés sans aucune agressivité
-Transparence, aération, dynamique, analyse , équilibre des registres, ouverture de la scène sonore nettement améliorées .
En un mot c’est comme s’il ne restait plus que la musique et non plus du son…
Résultat tout à fait similaire à une montée significative en gamme des équipements voire à passer sur un ampli à tubes ou de classe A.
Écoute réalisée à partir d’un streamer moyenne gamme, d’un DAC et d’ un ampli hi-fi de qualité audiophile et d’enceintes 3 voies d’un constructeur Brestois …liaison streamer -DAC via fibre optique en verre véritable et liaison Dac-ampli par l’intermédiaire d’un câble RCA, d’une société Américaine , de qualité réputé pour son équilibre général .
En conclusion : une bonne alimentation permet également d’améliorer la restitution d’un appareil numérique ( je suppose qu’il en est certainement de même pour des équipements vidéo ?)
L’investissement nécessaire reste relativement modique par rapport aux gains obtenus
N’hésitez pas à questionner Audiophoniques car leurs réponses sont pertinentes et très rapides .
Dernier point, matériel reçu rapidement et très bien emballé
Produit bien conçu, bien construit et de qualité .
Je recommande ce produit ainsi que la société Audiophonics.

Good quality linear power supply
I had ordered this linear power supply 5V 2A for powering a WiiM pro streamer. I replaced the original charger with this power supply. Very good quality I can say that the streamer is sounding very good and detailed. After a month of using I recommend this product. Delivery was a big surprise, I got the package in RO in 48 hours after ordering !

Good improvement for a Musical Fidelity MX DAC
I had ordered your Linear power supply 5V 2A for powering a Musical Fidelity MX DAC (power consumption 5.18 V 0.89 A).
(It had been recommended in HiFi magazines to replace the MF "Wall Wart" switching power supply by a quality linear power supply, because it would improve the sound).

Before ordering , I checked this statement (using a linear laboratory power supply) and (to my surprise) indeed the depth, width, separation of instruments in the soundstage improved remarkably (of course using a good HiRes recording e.g. Katie Mulua No 8 acoustic recording (96/24 WAV) from www.HiRes Audio.com.

I checked the Musical Fidelity Wall Wart Switching Power supply and it indeed appeared to have a lot of noise extending from the KHz regime all into the Mhz regime ( I used a 100 Mhz BW Tektronix 465B scope to investigate this ).
NB The lab supply had only noise (1 mV pp) , in the regime of higher than 20 MHz.

In view of the encouraging results with the lab Power Supply I ordered yourAudiophonics Linear Low Noise 5V 2A power supply with equally good results.
(significant increase of breath and width of soundstage and separation of voice and instruments).

Checking by oscilloscope revealed a noise free DC below cut off of 20 MHz and only one small sine noise (1 mV PP) at approx 35 MHz .
Most likely this will be damped in the DAC itself, anyhow.

All in all , a recommendation, of an item in which initially I did not believe in!

BTW one cautionary remark:
The Musical Fidelity MX DAC is critical with over -and under voltage (inbuilt power protection).
I had to increase the 5V DC voltage of the Audiophonics slightly with the trimmer potentiometer at the back ( to 5.19V).
Reason:
Initially the MF MX DAC did not work at all with the power supply (only power LED lit, but otherwise dead).
Increasing the voltage (1/4 turn ) solved this and kicked the DAC into life.

Sur mon humble système celui-ci alimente mon lecteur réseau dac nuprime et à rendu celui-ci un cran meilleur avec des extinctions de note réel, un meilleure détachement de la voix ainsi que quelques micro détails d'enregistrement jusqu'à aujourd'hui non entendu... Je continu à commander sur votre site, peut être un jour des tarifs plus intéressants sur les colis feront sauter le pas à d'autres acheteurs ????

Zauberkästchen für mein Digione
Ich habe dieses Netzteil bestellt, da mein bisheriges keine CE Kennung hatte. Deshalb habe ich es ohne Erwartungen gekauft. Es sollte einfach nur ein Austausch sein.
Aber nach den ersten Takten der Musik war mir klar, dass das Teil viel mehr kann. Die Musik löst sich über den gesamten Frequenzbereich mit viel mehr Details von den Lautsprechern. Was für ein glaublicher zugewinn! Kann ich nur empfehlen!

I use it for 2 device one is ifi zen phono and the other qutest dac.

I don't feel nothing special but is silent good building and you can turn on off the qutedt dac

I have a audiophonic current cable (very suspicious similar to audio agile lol) it cost 35 euro and have good isolation.

Je confirme que cette alim transfigure le DAC SMSL Sanskrit 10th.
Motif d'insatisfaction : j'ai manifestement reçu un produit d'occasion ou reconditionné puisque le boitier était abimé et qu'il n'y avait pas de câble secteur.

Bon produit et RQP correct
Bon produit que j'utilise avec un DAC SMSL Sanscrit 10th acheté chez Audiophonics. Les effets sont audibles, plus de présence, de matière et de rapidité. Cette alimentation fait le Job et son prix est très correct en regard de la fabrication qui semble sérieuse. Seul regret, les prises usb de chaque côté. Ce type d'alimentation étant plutôt utilisée dans le cadre d'un ensemble hifi la prise avant n'est pas esthétique et serait mieux placée amha à l'arrière à cote de l'autre. Moins on voit de fils....
Sinon je constate encore une fois que l'expédition du produit n'a pas été effectuée dans les délais annoncés. Pas très grave mais un peu gênant à la longue.

Une double alim USB pour le Dac et Chromecast audio
Expédition rapide et sérieuse. J'ai passé mon Chromecast audio en optique avec le dac Sanskrit et un cable Viablue. La double alim régulée prend ici tout son sens. Le bond en avant est évident sur ma config HIFI full DIY ( UGS et UP ). Aucun regret.

Etonnant !
J'étais septique, mais couplé à un DAC hifiberry DAC 2, c'est top. Plus de basses (mais plus, mais meilleures), et plus de détails, notament lors d'écoute à bas volume. Bravo Audiophonics.

Alim pour dac
Acheté conjointement avec le dac smsl 10 th mk2 pour tirer le maximum de ce petit bijou de dac.Pas eu le loisir d'ecouter avec ou sans une alim de ce nom mais ç'est certain une bonne alim change tout dans un systéme un tant soit peu transparent!
Une réalisation qui respire le sérieux et qui est abordable pour les audiophiles peu fortunés dont je fais partie.

Improved my Chord Mojo DAC and USB reconditioner
I bought it to improve the sound of my DAC setup.

Build quality:
Very solid and weighty. The power button has weak spring action (does not bother me).

Delivery time:
Audiophonics sent the unit on the same day. It arrived after 6 working days to neighboring Germany, which is OK but could be better.

Performance:
I bought it to replace the 3A SMPS phone charger I use for my Chord Mojo. Even though the DAC designer says better LPSU should not make a difference, it actually did improve the sound of the mojo - I got deeper and more impactful bass, smoother sound.
As an added bonus this LPSU could also power my USB reclocker from Oehlbach. I was previously powering the reclocker with a Lead-Acid battery that brought big sound improvement. I did not notice sound degradation moving from battery to this LPSU.
Please note that the reclocker needs very little power itself. This is important to keep the power consumption to the LPSU within the specified 2A capacity (a hardworking LPSU generates higher noise).
As you can see I am very happy with this unit.

Excellent Rapport QP, très efficace et musicale
cette alimentation me permet d'alimenter une Chromecast Audio dont l'alimentation d'origine est vraiment légère, ainsi qu'un Dac SMSL Sanscrit 10ème anniversaire en lieu et place d'une lfi Power silencieuse mais pour mon goût assez peu musicale. Je suis très content du résultat. Tout est mieux, scène sonore, densité, rapidité, grain des instruments. Le fait de pouvoir alimenter 2 appareils est un plus.
L'appareil semble solide et bien fini. C'est trop tôt pour parler de fiabilité mais je suis assez optimiste compte tenu de l'apparente qualité de fabrication. Un bon achat dont le prix en plus se situe à un niveau raisonnable ce qui dans ce domaine n'est pas si fréquent.

Je cherchais une bonne alimentation pour mon lecteur sur base de PI3 et de mon interface digitale dotée d’un iDefender (iFi) et voilà chose faite avec cette alimentation régulée qui me permet d’alimenter les 2 sans problème avec un signal très propre évitant d’injecter du ripple dans mon DAC via l’interface USB...le son a légèrement gagné en précision et surtout le registre des basses a gagné en lisibilité et impact...

Pour alimenter mon Dac Sanskrit je l'ai attendu 3 mois , covid oblige, je ne m'attendais pas à une telle amélioration sur mon système à base Euphia-Mulidine !
Grave plus propre, espace sonore plus large et plus profond ,la musique est là et grandeur nature ! bravo!

Alimentation de très bonne facture, bien construite, très silencieuse. Une petite amélioration souhaitée, un bouton on/off plus "silencieux" et moins gros serait top !

Rapport qualité prix hors de common, donc formidable. Aussi l' emballage est on ne peux plus soigné. La communication est extraordinaire. Je suis si ravis d'être parmi vos clients fidèles .

Fait son travail correctement
Pas de différence avec une alimentation basique mais l'interrupteur met en marche le Daphile Drive. Chauffe quand même un peu trop.

En remplacement iFi Power 5V
Acheté pour remplacer une alimentation iFi Power 5V (Rasp+Allo DigiOne), je dois avouer ne remarquer aucune différence notable sur le son. Mais au moins il y a un interrupteur ! Et quand j'utilise cette alim sur un autre Rasp. + OSMC + DD externe, il y a l'ampérage nécessaire et je n'ai plus ce petit éclair clignotant dans le coin de l'écran.... Bref, content :-)

Purchased this unit to power my QUETEST DAC, which I had previously being powering with an ANKER PowerCore 20100 Power Bank, 4.8amp output. I plugged in the cable to the socket at the rear of the Audiophonics power supply and attached to the Quetest - no problems. The power supply ran warm after a couple of hours use but nothing I did not expect to experience. The following day I plugged the ANKER Power Bank into the power supply socket from the front of the unit to charge it up, this whilst simaltaneously using the rear socket to power the DAC. After a couple hours the battery was nearly fully charged. I felt the power supply unit - WOW - HOT !!!! . I immediately turned off the power to the unit and disconnected both charging cables and let the power supply unit cool down. It still appears to function ok, powering the DAC from both socket outlets when trialled. So, beware - the unit may have two 5v power outlets but I would strongly recommend only using one outlet at a time. Perhaps a note from the manufacturer would have been useful here ?

Perfect PSU for your RPi3 and Hifiberry board
This replaces a iFi iPower unit which failed to supply my RPi reliably (dreaded lightning bolt icon). This supply works perfectly and the jitter output to my toslink input to my soundbar has reduced with very good quality sound. Impressed by the build quality for the price. Would buy again.

Excellent device
This is the second 5v power supply I bought from audiophonics. Both are excellent. The last I bought has some more ventilation, no problem with the previous version anyway. It greatly improved the sound coming from my two Asus tinkerboard with Volumio. Also, they look nice in a hi-fi set. Recommended!

Apres quelques échanges mail, tres heureux de cet achat pour fonctionner avec un DAC ami musik ds5 .
Une fois branché , eh bien , c'est plus de tout, et dans tous les registres , grave , medium , aigu!

works wonders on my digione
I replaced the stock power supply of my digione+raspberry pi with this one. Very big improvement on the sound, sound much more clear and tight bass. My streamer now sounds like a high end streamer.

Stable & Low Noise
I ordered one of these supplies to evaluate as I needed to replace some switch mode supplies in my system. The regulation is fine and there is no appreciable electrical noise from this supply. I have ordered another of these based on the performance of the first one. This is the first time I have dealt with Audiophonics, they delivered quickly and gave several email updates regarding the progress of my order. Very satisfied new customer, thanks.

I did not measure the performance or ripple but I think that the sound quality improved: the piano sounds better.
I think I can hear the differences to the original (Allo) power supply even if I do not have high-end equipment.

I like the front and rear USB sockets and the surface finish.

I would have preferred a slightly harder power knob and a stronger feed-back but this is really not important and has something to do with the personal expectations.

The delivery to Germany was very fast.

My conclusion: excellent power supply.
Would I recommend it to my friends? - Yes!

perfect sound
It took long to decide which DAC I should buy, finally I ordered also the AUDIOPHONICS Linear Regulated Low Noise Power Supply USB 5V 3.5A 25VA and in just 5 minutes the setup was playing.
I am really surprised that a DAC can do so much in the sound on the same setup.
So the source is indeed the first important step.
At this price a big improvement over the HiFiberry DAC+ Pro
