Purchased one couple of months ago.
As was originally suggested, loaded Rune Audio onto micro SD card, booted the unit, and it came up - with the screen upside down. At first I thought some one messed up and mounted the screen upside down. Turns out it was a software issue, common to many players.
I contacted Audiophonics, and after few email discussions, loaded the latest Volumio player. Everything was great - except I had no sound. After numerous email exchanges, I had Audiophonics email me assembly instructions.
I took the player completely apart, and reassembled it again. In the process I discovered that one of the GPIO pins was bent and had no contact with DAC connector - most probably the reason for sound issues.
Once again I started the unit, this time using PiCore Player and Logitech Music Server. I connected the streamer to the Emotiva USP-1 preamp, mated to Emotiva UPA-200 stereo amp and Magnepan MG 3.7 speakers and HSU Research ULS-15 Subwoofer.
Few hi-res recordings from Primophonics instantly convinced me that this player was well worth all the aggravation:
the sound was simply wonderful.
I can't wait to convert some of my organ music LPs to HiRes WAV or FLAC or maybe DSD files and play them on my RaspTouch!!! It will be glorious!
