Now this really is an extraordinary product, both Audiophonic's housing and Hypex' amplifier are way beyond the qualitiy that you can expect in this price range, if there is some famous brand label attached to the front... I particularly appreciate the switchable RCA/XLR inputs, as I use this power amp in a configuration that allows multichannel (R+L preamp output of my AVR via RCA) and pure stereo (via XLR). Now this stereo setup, which exists of the minimum number of components, is what really blows my mind. Source is an Eversolo DMP-A6, which can also serve as preamp and has balanced output, directly connected to the HPA-S600NCX via high quality XLR cables (of Funk Tonstudiotechnik in Berlin, Germany, who produce absolutely fantastic quality cables for nearly all audio applications) which serves to a pair of ambitious middle class speakers with 89dB efficiency. All this in a very small dedicated listening room, which does not allow for a proper bass reproduction. What should I say? The HPA-S600NCX delivers a precision in bass in this acoustically unfavorable environment that not even an absolutely high-end amplifier (an ASR Emitter, that a friend had lent me for testing) could deliver. I can only assume that the extremely low output impedance / high damping factor does the trick. Anyway, it's on a level which I never would have expected. As also the clarity of sound and the realistic performance over the rest of the frequency range is first class, I can highly recommend this amp even for high-end setups. For the fun of it: If you want to enjoy the potential of this little box, listen to Yello's "The Expert" from the "Touch Yello" album at a high listening level - I'm sure you will be amazed, too :-)
