A flawless power amplifier. The extension of the sound and the precision of left-right imaging are excellent—especially in solo piano performances, where you can see the sound hanging in space, fading away without any blur.
The treble is never harsh, and the overall sound is truly flat and stress-free. Despite this, even the lowest frequencies are clearly separated and dynamic without being overbearing. For acoustic music, this is exactly the sound I was looking for.
However, one point requires attention.
This amplifier also supports RCA input via a switch. But since the Purifi module is designed for a fully balanced configuration, using RCA results in a severe degradation in sound quality. Specifically, issues such as smearing, distortion, and poor imaging become noticeable—to the point where (to exaggerate slightly) it starts to resemble a sub-€100 Chinese digital amp.
Therefore, if your upstream equipment only has unbalanced RCA output, or a pseudo-XLR connection that only uses pin 2, simply using an adapter plug for conversion is not sufficient. The unbalanced-to-balanced conversion must be performed via active circuitry within the preamplifier!
