More out of curiosity about how far Class D quality had progressed, I decided to buy this amplifier, complementing an old-school tube and Nakamichi 420 power amps. Fortunately, since I specifically desired a European solution, the combination of Purifi hardware integrated into an Audiophonics chassis was the perfect opportunity for me. Examining the internal components and wiring shows excellent workmanship, putting the narrow chassis to effective use. I was very impressed with the dynamics and definition of the few CD‘s that I listened to for preliminary testing. I had combined this purchase with replacement Mundorf capacitors for my 30 year old B&W speaker crossovers, which I had also immediately installed, so I need to become accustomed to the sound to make a long term evaluation. Since I love to tweek my components from time to time(AFTER the warranty elapses), this amplifier allows the possibility to test alternative op-amps, and for the more adventurous, maybe replace the 15 volt voltage regulators on the interface board with Sparkos regulators.
The order and delivery process to Germany, basically next door, was quick and simple and I will continue to visit their website should I need any parts or accessories in the future.
