Being an audiophile I'm all about vinyl, CD and cassette tape. Meaning, when I can't get a hold on an album on CD, vinyl or studio recorded tape, I buy it on FLAC download. so I use this cable for recording FLAC files of albums I buy. I play from my Chromebook via a usb dac through the cable. I use a high end tape deck and can monitor the source and recording as it record. I hear minor differences in the recording from the FLAC source, even compared to listing to the FLAC music direct from the PC via the DAC to my headphones. So the minor differences are due to the dynamic range of the tape. So basically no signal degradation from the cable. Highly recommended if you need quality sound from one source to another.
