AVIS SUR QUALITÉ ET MONTAGE

Not copper
Waste of money. No copper anywhere on this plug as I filed it down and no copper.

Good solid upgrade to try before going up to expensive PSUs
I will start by saying that the use case for my RPi4B is as a DLNA server.
meaning i have a usb ssd where i store my music, and use assetUPNP to index and serve music on network in the form of a DLNA server.

i have experimented with 3 power supplies, i even modded an ifi ipower elite in order to get better performance out of the Pi.
I invested a lot of time in optimising the the RPI os to be as minimal as possible (turn off hardware i do not need, leds, stop unused processes, etc...)

even so, with many tweaks and fixes, this board provides a lower noise floor.
The soundstage becomes deeper, and more details are apparent, as well as greater dynamics, without any added harshness in the high registers.
So i would advise anybody that wants to play with a Rpi for audio to go for this board before spending much much more on better power sources.
i'm not saying don't do it, i am saying having this board as a buffer / interface (it feeds the RPI power through GPIO pins) has been beneficial even with higher quality switching power supply.

if i had to nit pick, i don't much like the spike feet - but nobody is making you buy them - and if there is something i feel the UCPI is not doing right, it is the choice of input power, the USP C.
i would have been happier with screw contacts like on the output side, or maybe a DC jack 5*2.1 for example.
and the solder points for input power could be thrgough holes, so you can actually solder bigger gauge wire.
so my only problems are with the connectors used by the board. functionally, i consider it an immens value, and a good adition to my setup.

pure battery voltage
pure battery voltage
using supercapacitor and ultra low mosfet
using it for my singxer su2
gives 5% better sound
and better most high-end power supply

Good value
I did a review of Ian Canada TransportPi and this was added to it. It subtly improved my overall perception of sound quality of that board. Not sure how it actually measures for noise, which is something I am interested in. But I do think the ability to run a device purely off an ultracapacitor to decouple from a direct mains supply is worthwhile.

Agree with Clive S above: Ian knows his stuff
I had been having issues after a Roon infrastructure upgrade getting the same fantastic SQ I was used to on my main system. After trying a few RasPi digital transport hats that didn't do it, I reached out to Ian Canada via email for advice. He graciously responded the next day and suggested a transportPi Digi + this UCPi would solve my audio fidelity woes. Boy was he right! Got the TransportPi unit first and it was a huge improvement in the right direction. When the UCPi arrived 10 days later, wasted no time charging up the caps and installing. Bingo! This pairing along with upgraded clocks on the TransportPi does indeed deliver audio nirvana on a great system, it defies belief such bit perfect quality can be this affordable. Fun to play with the Pi units and wait for the next improvement to arrive, I just pretend I'm a 12 year old again waiting for the new parts of my nerd science kit to arrive! Thank you Ian Canada and Audiophonics.

Great product. I installed it under my raspberry pi. Installation was quick and easy I have a few speaker spikes keeping it off the table. I have a audioquest dragonfly red connected to the pi and what can I say. The bass has increased and it's tighter more accurate. The sound stage has widened everything just sounds better. Ian Canada sure knows his stuff.
