My Musical Paradise MP-DX DAC was originally equipped with a Crystek clock. After extensive modifications, I believed the unit had reached its upgrade limit. However, a fellow forum member suggested that upgrading the clock could still bring a noticeable improvement in sound quality.
Based on that recommendation, I decided to replace the Crystek clock with the Ian Canada SC-Pure clock (49.1520 MHz). The result exceeded my expectations, elevating this heavily modified MP-DX DAC to an entirely new level.
Bass performance is more impactful, tighter, and more nuanced.
Midrange glare has been eliminated.
The soundstage is deeper and more holographic.
Note decay is exceptionally natural and engaging.
An outstanding upgrade—Extremely satisfied.
