Neurochrome's Universal Buffer is a high quality stereo buffer module designed and assembled in Canada. It can be configured for the following functions:

• Single-ended (RCA) to Balanced (XLR) conversion.
• Balanced (XLR) to Single-Ended (RCA) conversion.
• Direct Buffer (single-ended to single-ended or balanced to balanced).
• Signal inverter.
• Can be configured with gain by adding two resistors.

With the addition of a volume control and source selector, multiple Universal Buffer modules can be configured as a complete preamplifier with support for both balanced and unbalanced sources and loads.

The Universal Buffer has been designed by Neurochrome to be totally transparent from a sound point of view, in order to allow a wide and realistic sound scene.

The module has a differential balanced input for connection, which can accept balanced signals as well as, via a jumper configuration, unbalanced signals. On the output side, the Universal Buffer offers one balanced and one unbalanced output.
