For the playback function, there are 3 outputs — USB-A, Toslink optical and coaxial —, enabling the CR60 to connect to the majority of DACs available on the market. For its ripper function, there are 3 USB outputs — USB-A, USB-B and USB-C —, enabling it to be connected to a computer, Android smartphone, USB stick or even a brand-name DAP to perform the operation. The CR60 is ideal for users wishing to enjoy their music library in CD format, and benefit from superior recording quality on other digital sources.

Shanling CR60: a neat interface

On the front of the CR60, you'll immediately notice the small color screen displaying various operating information. Numerous control buttons and a remote control are also available. A small switch on the rear panel selects the device's operating mode. The CR60 can be powered via DC 12V jack or USB-C 5V 2A.

Good after software update
Not bought here for practical reasons it would not read anything after track 31 and after a helpful email from Shanling and a bit of work on the computer it works as it should.
Soundwise not better than my Tempo EC1b CD player when used as transport.

Shanling CR60 transport CD et ripper
Une excellente surprise ! commandé pour une utilisation ripper c'est dans un premier temps l'utilisation en transport CD qui m'a mis des claques : un excellent lecteur qui transmet un nombre incroyable d'informations, sur mes 2 configurations ampli Teac dac Teac et ampli Yamaha dac Gustard (achat Audiophonics) mes transports Cd Cambridge et Advance vont prendre la poussière. Bravo à Shanling pour cet appareil : avec d'excellents composants on faut d'excellents produits. Une alimentation régulée filtrée (achat Audiophonics) participe à améliorer le résultat, un bon découplage de l'appareil aussi me permet d'optimiser encore le rendu (les pieds caoutchouc ne font que partiellement le job) c'est un point d'optimisation à ne pas négliger pour l'électronique et ici le mécanisme de lecture. Je suis donc parti après déjà 40 heures d'écoute pour me réécouter ma discothèque (l'automne y sera favorable). On va chercher trop souvent des améliorations sur nombre de composants de notre chaîne hifi mais la qualité des sources reste essentielle, Avec le CR60 je crois qu'on est pas loin de l'excellence.

cd transport with usb audio out!
There really arent that many cd players with usb audio output on the market. This one is affordable and surprisingly well built (and heavy for its size).

I have invested in an usb audio based system to get the best sound possible and this device enables me to play my old cd's with the same fidelity.

I havent tried the ripper functionality yet, but it's cool that is has this function.

Delivery and packaging was top notch as always with audiophonics.

qualité de son et belle facture
Taille réduite, esthétique sobre, très silencieux en fonctionnement, mais surtout excellente qualité sonore.
Je ne l'utilise qu'en transport et non en Ripper.
Chose curieuse : je préfère la connexion en USB-C sur un Dac plutôt que le coaxial : la différence est audible.
La télécommande "texturée" est jolie et agréable à l'usage.
Seul bémol : une fois le CD inséré, lenteur pénible avant de pouvoir lancer la lecture. Également : pas d'alimentation fournie.
Je ne regrette absolument pas pour autant !

Some serious problems
I bought this device because I found the connection as a CD transport via USB very appealing. Unfortunately, there are three serious problems, which is why I had to send the device back after a few days. Firstly, it takes too long to read the CDs. Much too long. Once the CD is playing, the player makes very loud humming noises, like a poor quality computer CD drive. The last point to mention is some inconsistencies in operation, such as the non-intuitive button assignment on the front of the device and the display, which is far too small. Overall, it's a shame that this device didn't live up to expectations. The quality appearance of the casing was otherwise very good.
