Hybrid Audio OPA with SSV5 DNA
Burson's latest PDO is the result of a partnership with a leading microchip manufacturer. So, with this alliance they created a new version of their V5 FET circuit. Moreover, in order to overcome certain limitations inherent in integrated circuits, they outsourced certain parts of their circuits and completed them with very high quality discrete components.
This V5i from Burson is the result of these collaborations. It is a hybrid audio PDO, integrating both integrated circuits and discrete components. In addition, it bears the sound signature of its big brother, the V5, considered by many as the reference in the world of audio.

Practical and Efficient
With this V5i, Burson offers a PDO similar in size to a classic PDO and also with DIP8 support. Thus, it will be extremely easy to integrate into devices that also have DIP8 support and its size will not be a problem. Despite its contained size, the V5i offers exceptional performance.
Incredible performance and quality
The V5i has a bandwidth of up to 50MHz. If these very high frequencies are not audible by the human ear, they participate in the listening of a piece to the general feeling and the richness of the restitution. And just like its big brother the discreet V5, the V5i offers dynamic, transparent reproduction and a wide sound image.
Will the V5i work on your device?
BEFORE INSTALLING AN OPA
In order to know if the OPA V5i will work on your device, here are some steps to realize :
- Identify the PDO(s) in your device.
- Verify that it is really an integrated circuit with 8 pins as on the picture below.
- Note the model of the PDO(s) of your device.
- Find pine 1 thanks to the semi-circle indicator (in blue on the picture below).
- Determine if you need a single or Dual PDO.
Installation
1. Make sure you have the right PDO
- V5 OPA-D = Dual OPA = can replace a dual OPA
- V5 OPA-S = Single OPA = can replace a signle OPA
2. Connect the OPA in the correct direction:
Align the half circle of the PCB or IC support with the half circle of the V5i OPA.
An OPA connected in the wrong direction has a very high chance of being destroyed. An operating error is not covered by the warranty.
Compatibility
The Burson Dual V5i OPA is compatible and therefore interchangeable with the following OPA:
AD823, AD823AN, AD8066, AD8620, AD712, AD827, C4570, JRC4556AD, JRC4580, JRC5532, JRC5532D, JRC5534, LF353, LM4562, LME49860, LM833N, MUSES8920, NE5532, NEC4520, NEC4570, NJM2068D, NJM2114, NJM2214D, NJM4558, NJM4558D, NJM4560, NJM5532, NJM4558P, OP275, OPA1612, OPA2277PA, OPA2132, OPA2134, OPA2604, JRC4558, RC4558D, RC4558P, TL052, TL072, MUSES01, MUSES02, MUSES8820, MUSES8920, MUSES8832, BA15532.
