The Denafrips Terminator 15Th Plus is a high-performance, symmetrical R2R NOS DAC capable of delivering incredibly pure, rich sound. It benefits from an uncompromising design, conceived to offer the best possible musical experience!
The Denafrips Terminator 15th Plus digital/analogue conversion module and its R2R ladder networks are perfectly isolated. The two boards are physically linked by the OCXO clock module. Physical isolation reduces background noise and gives a better signal-to-noise ratio.
The Terminator 15th Plus is equipped with two OCXO clocks operating at 45.1584MHz and 49.152MHz. Encased in a metal case in the centre of the DAC, these OCXOs are specially designed for high-end audio applications with ultra-low phase noise and very high precision. Both OCXOs are powered by the completely redesigned power supply circuit, providing a constant current to the clocks. Adequate power reserves guarantee the linearity and stability of the clock signal.
Jitter is also reduced by reclocking the FIFO buffer. The adaptive FIFO buffer stores digital audio data. These are read directly using the very low phase noise OCXO located directly in the DAC.
The Terminator 15th Plus also features an OCXO clock output for perfect synchronisation of several audio devices.
Denafrips Terminator 15Th Plus incorporates its own linear power supply stage, located beneath the DAC board and separated from it by a steel partition to prevent interference. The power supply uses three large O-Core toroidal transformers for the digital and analog sections, and low ESR capacitors to provide a stable electrical signal to all audio circuits.
To ensure the shortest possible signal path, I2S and SPDIF signals are processed on an FPGA chip, without any additional conversion chips.
The Denafrips Terminator 15Th Plus also boasts comprehensive connectivity, enabling easy integration into the vast majority of audio systems. Inputs include USB-B, I2S RJ45 LVCMOS, I2S RJ45 LVDS, I2S HDMI LVDS, AES/EBU, Toslink optical and coaxial. Outputs include unbalanced stereo RCA and balanced stereo XLR. Two clock outputs enable the Terminator and another audio device to be perfectly synchronized for optimum system performance.
