SUPTRONICS X400
PCM5122 DAC TPA3118D2 TPA6133A Class D Amplifier 32bit 384kHz 2x30W 8 Ohm for Raspberry Pi
This X400 extension module for Raspberry Pi includes a DAC, a Class D stereo amplifier and a headphone amplifier. This one retrieves the I2S signal from your Raspberry Pi. You can therefore take advantage of your SBC's connectivity, namely its USB-A and RJ45 network inputs, to enjoy your music in high quality, via a high-performance Digital/Analog conversion and amplification module.
Note: This product only corresponds to the DAC module / Amplification X400. The Raspberry Pi is sold separately.
DAC PCM5122 & Connectivity
The X400 module includes a Burr Brown PCM5122 DAC TI Burr TI chip that has already proven itself on many HiFi systems. This one supports the reading of high resolution files, up to PCM 24bit 192kHz on this X400 for a very accurate listening, while offering a nice dynamic range. With an SNR measured at 112dB and a THD at 0.0019%, this DAC chip ensures accurate and faithful reproduction. In addition, the X400 benefits from an ultra-low noise TI voltage regulator providing an output noise below 10µVRMS and a high efficiency TI DC converter up to 95%.
For its connectivity, the X400 module benefits from an I2S input via GPIO, allowing you to retrieve the signals from your Raspberry Pi. On the output side, there is a stereo RCA connector, a 3.5mm jack and terminals for direct connection to your speakers.
Amplifier & Quality components
The X400 has two amplification chips on board. The first is a TI TPA3118D2 capable of delivering 2x30W at 8 Ohm (@ 24VDC). The second one corresponds to the amplification section for headphones. This is a TI TPA6133A capable of delivering up to 142mW at 16 Ohm on headphone output (3.5mm jack).
The module also includes an ALPS RK163 volume potentiometer for smooth and accurate volume control. The PCB also has a Vishay IR receiver, which will allow you to control your system remotely with a remote control (sold separately). Finally, the module also leaves a PH2.0 connector available that will allow you to add an ON/OFF button (sold separately) to the X400.
The amplification stage can be deactivated by connecting the jumper contacts located next to the IR receiver.
Note: Once the OS is installed, it is necessary to select the HiFiBerry DAC driver.
Caution: Do not power the Raspberry Pi via its Micro USB connector.
