High quality desktop speakers
I've tried some rather different passive loudspeakers in a near-field desktop setup.,from e.g. Wharfedale, Dali, JBL, Tannoy and others. These were the only ones which did the disappearing act without sounding thin. And the quality of the parts and the finish is top notch. In the end I had to use them with a classic NAD amp because the ProJect Stereo Box S2 was simply not up to the task (annoying hiss). Highly recommended!

Great quality from small, easy to drive speakers
I am connecting these speakers to Astell&Kern ACRO L1000 DAC/AMP for a very nice near-field set-up on my working desk. Despite the modest output of my amp (15W per channel), these speakers produce wonderful music, very enjoyable, full of detail and color. They do not get very loud of course, but they render the music with authority and help me get through my working day with more joy and energy :) I can highly recommend these.
