The FiiO BR15 R2R is a DAC built around a discrete 24-bit R2R architecture. It uses a network of 192 precision resistors within a fully symmetrical circuit, relying on the latest generation Bluetooth 6.0 reception to extend this conversion rigour to high-definition wireless sources via aptX Lossless and LDAC protocols.

Designed for hi-fi systems seeking an analogue sound signature, it combines flexible power management with advanced customisation of processing via NOS/OS modes and 10-band equalisation. This technical versatility allows it to adapt to the specific acoustic characteristics of the installation, while maintaining modern control ergonomics via the dedicated control application for seamless integration into the system.

The FiiO BR15 R2R is based on a 24-bit R2R converter designed around a network totalling 192 precision resistors, divided into four channels of 48 resistors each. This entirely discrete architecture ensures conversion without a traditional DAC chip and emphasises warmer sound reproduction. The device also offers a choice of NOS (Non-Oversampling) or OS (Oversampling) modes, allowing for either a more raw and natural sound or a more detailed and clinical one, using oversampling up to 384 kHz.

The entire audio chain, starting with the DAC, low-pass filter, gain control, and volume control, utilises fully symmetrical signal processing for excellent interference elimination, minimal distortion, and high dynamic range.

FiiO BR15 R2R: Flexible power management

The electrical architecture of the BR15 R2R adopts a hybrid topology, natively integrating an internal switching power supply for immediate and autonomous mains operation. This configuration is complemented by a dedicated DC input, offering the user the option of bypassing the internal circuit in favour of an external linear power supply. This upgrade option further isolates sensitive components from parasitic switching noise, thereby reducing background noise and improving the overall dynamics of the converted signal.
