The Furutech FI-28 (G) is a very high performance IEC female connector, ideal for building an audiophile power cable without compromise. In addition to its gold-plated copper contacts, the FI-F28 also benefits from the proprietary Furutech Alpha α anti-magnetic treatment, which involves two steps:
- Cryogenization of metals at -250°C using liquid nitrogen in order to consolidate their molecular structure and significantly improve their conductivity.
- Submission of these same metals to a powerful magnetic field created by means of magnets arranged in rings and whose force of attraction is constantly controlled so as not to leave any magnetic residue at the end of the treatment.
The FI-28 model also uses the patented Floating Field Damper System technology, which almost completely eliminates the creation of micro-zones of magnetic and electrostatic turbulence inside the connector, caused by the passage of current in the vicinity of certain sensitive components (metal fixing screws, cable clamping elements, etc.). These "floating" micro-fields of force conflict with the much stronger primary magnetic flux generated by the passage of current through the cable and connectors, inducing a form of electrical resistance that is harmful to conductivity, as well as being able to generate a form of distortion. Furutech manages to control these phenomena by connecting all the metal parts concerned to each other by means of a conductor which is responsible for bringing all these undesirable energies to earth.
The body of the connector is made of a composite material of Nylon and Fiberglass, offering extreme resistance to shocks, electric arcs and high temperatures.
The conductors are fastened by means of 3 colour-coded screws (2 poles + earth). The firmness of the fixing, obtained thanks to the Furutech Wire Clamp technology, eliminates any risk of accidental tearing or damage to the cable, while significantly improving the contact surface.
The connector is compatible with cables between 6 and 17.5mm diameter.
