The Fosi Audio Carbon12 are in-ear monitors with a dynamic driver featuring an ultra-thin carbon fiber diaphragm. Their dual-chamber architecture, combined with a rated total harmonic distortion of ≤ 0.5% at 1kHz, aims for detailed reproduction and a wide soundstage.
With an impedance of 37Ω and a sensitivity of 108dB, they pair easily with a portable DAC or a portable audio player. Their TC4 titanium shell and acoustic tuning accessories allow listening and comfort to be adapted to different uses, from vocal-focused tracks to extended listening sessions.
Fosi Audio Carbon12: Full carbon fiber diaphragm
The Carbon12's carbon fiber diaphragm relies on proprietary UTPT technology, designed to overcome the thickness limits usually associated with this material. Its ultra-thin structure retains a rigidity close to that of metal while limiting moving mass, which promotes fast transients and a more accurate frequency response.
Fosi Audio Carbon12: Dual-chamber dynamic driver
The dynamic driver has a rated total harmonic distortion of ≤ 0.5% at 1kHz. Combined with a dual-chamber design, this architecture extends the frequency response and contributes to a wide soundstage. The open front chamber relieves the pressure felt in the ear and lets the sound unfold more freely, while the rear chamber incorporates dedicated damping foam to absorb standing waves and unwanted reflections. A diffuse pressure-relief vent also balances internal pressure, for more natural reproduction and comfort suited to extended listening.
Fosi Audio Carbon12: TC4 titanium and carbon fiber shell
The rigid TC4 titanium alloy shell limits vibrations transmitted between the driver and the housing, thereby reducing unwanted resonances. The material is stated to be stronger than pure titanium; its surface is also designed to be hypoallergenic, fingerprint-resistant and suitable for skin contact. The carbon fiber faceplate also helps reduce resonances between the shell and the driver. Its manufacturing combines layer stacking, stamping, temperature control, forging and CNC machining, giving each piece a distinct natural pattern.
Fosi Audio Carbon12: Cable and tuning accessories
The Carbon12 comes with a four-strand braided silver-plated oxygen-free copper cable, designed to transmit the signal with low resistance. Three sizes of triple-tuning ear tips allow the fit to be adapted to the shape of the ear and the bass response to be selected. Low, medium and high density tip tuning foams are also supplied; they can be replaced using the included tweezers. A higher density attenuates the extreme treble, while a lower density brings more brightness.
