Bluetooth Receiver 5.0 CSR8675 / DAC 2xAK4377A Balanced
The BTR3K is a portable bluetooth receiver with DAC circuit & balanced headphone amplifier. It works thanks to a Qualcomm CSR8675 24-bit Bluetooth 5.0 chip, which gives it all the flexibility of lossless protocols (apt-X HD & LDAC) while ensuring that audio streams are received as transparently as possible.
Taking advantage of Fioo's know-how, this version inherits the dual crystal oscillator architecture introduced with the BTR5 and offers increased performance with high sampling frequencies.
Two AKM AK4377A chips fuel its analog stage. This robust balanced conversion and amplification circuit can deliver up to 78mW at 32 Ohms with an S/N ratio of 122dB and a distortion level of -107dB. An ideal power reserve to make the most of your balanced headset on the go.
At the heart of the BTR3K is a Qualcomm CSR8675 24-bit Bluetooth 5.0 chip. This component is a proven benchmark for audiophile applications with expanded support for all traditional & lossless protocols: SBC / AAC / apt-X HD / apt-X / apt-X Low Latency / LDAC. The CSR8675 chip is able to work with streams up to 24bit-96KHz depending on the codec and the capacities of the source.
In addition to its adaptive protocols that apply compression only when necessary, the receiver benefits from correction via its integrated 120MHz DSP. These correction capabilities are accessible to the user via the FiiO Music App which opens 4 audio filters as well as a 10-band graphic equalizer.
The BTR3K uses the dual crystal oscillator architecture already introduced by Fiio with its BTR5.
This duo of 22.5792MHz & 24.576MHz clocks offers an ideal reference signal for both traditional consumer encodings and high resolution formats.
A welcome addition that limits the stability issues inherent in the encoding of high sampling frequency streams in a bluetooth transport.
The BTR3K's Bluetooth chip is accompanied by a duo of AKM AK4377A DAC chips, offering very good sound performance, with an extremely low distortion level of -107dB and a high signal-to-noise ratio of 122dB.
These two chips are integrated in balanced mode and each dedicates all of its computing power to its own channel. In addition to compatibility with balanced headphones, this type of design significantly increases performance in terms of crosstalk (118dB on its balanced output).
This chip also acts as a headphone amplifier delivering 25mW under 32 Ohm oni ts single-ended output and 78mW under 32Ohm on its balanced output.
A 330mAh battery powers the BTR3K receiver. Thanks to the ultra-low-power operation of the CSR8675 Bluetooth chip, the battery can offer up to 11 hours of autonomy (depending on the charge opposed by the headphone).
The charging circuit is extremely efficient since it allows the BTR3K's battery to be fully charged in just an hour and a half.
Likewise, charging is done with ease thanks to a USB-C connector compatible with all standard chargers for USB smartphones and tablets.
If connected to a computer, the device is also able to function as a USB DAC in addition to charging.
The bluetooth circuit can keep two paired devices in its memory in order to be able to alternate swtich without requiring reconfiguration.
The CSR8675 chip has its own volume control which can be adjusted regardless of the source volume. This parameter remains memorized and allows precise and persistent adjustment even when the audio source changes regularly.
The BTR3K is compatible with CTIA signals from headphones equipped with playback controls and will integrate very easily into your bluetooth use habits.
Likewise, the device supports microphone / telephone control and can be used for telephone calls. In this use scenario, the entire conversation is processed with 8th generation noise cancellation technology from Qualcomm, which significantly benefits the clarity of conversations.
