The WiiM Pro+ is a compact, extremely versatile and high-performance audiophile streamer that transforms a conventional audio system into a connected system. It opens the door to music streaming via WiFi and Bluetooth 5.1, and is compatible with numerous transmission modes such as DLNA/UPnP, AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Alexa Music Cast, Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect. Several units can also be used in combination to set up a true multi-room system, with full remote control via the WiiM App mobile application or a voice assistant such as Alexa, Google Assistant or Siri.

The WiiM Pro+ is an improved version of the WiiM Pro, incorporating a better DAC and ADC as well as more efficient OPAs. Its performance, particularly with regard to its line input and output, has been revised upwards, with improved SNR and THD+N for even more accurate and transparent sound reproduction. The main improvements to the WiiM Pro+ are :

  • A better ADC for line input: WiiM Pro+ uses a TI Burr-Brown PCM1861 ADC, supporting 32bit 192kHz PCM streams at output, with an SNR of 110dB.
  • Ultra-low-noise clock, power supply and circuitry: The WiiM Pro+ features an ultra-low-noise clock and power supply and a PCB design optimised to achieve a THD+N of less than -110dB for the analogue output.
  • AKM DAC and TI OPAs for improved line output quality: A new-generation AKM AK4493SEQ DAC is now used to achieve a very low level of distortion and a wide dynamic range thanks to AKM Velvet Sound technology. This chip supports PCM streams up to 768kHz and DSD up to DSD512 while achieving an SNR of 120dB (A-wt) and a THD+N of -110dB.
  • Remote control: A voice remote control is now included, allowing you to control the WiiM Pro+ from the comfort of your sofa, without having to take out your phone.

What is Bit-Perfect?

Bit-perfect is a term commonly used in audio. It is used to describe a player that can play a file without making any changes of any kind.

For example, if your player plays a 24bit/192kHz Hi-Res file on Qobuz, the digital output will propose 24bit/192kHz. Just like if the music file played is a 16Bit/44.1kHz, the digital output will propose 16Bit/44.1kHz, without any modification. A real 1:1 ratio (Input / Output).

This is what we call a real Bit-Perfect reading, as close as possible to the musical reality of the piece played.

Bon appareil
Connectique complète, fonctionnement irréprochable, liaison avec la BOX internet en WIFI chez moi, et pilotage par une tablette via le Blue tooth. Le DAC interne st bon, je l'utilise aussi avec un DAC externe.

Après avoir essayé le wiim mini, qui n' était pas stable dans son software, j' ai voulu essayer la "perle" des streamer avec ce wiim pro +.
L' application, la stabilité, la connectivité sont top et fiable pour le coup.
Cependant, je l' utilise avec un dac externe eversolo z6.
Le son est brouillon, dans le bas. Obligé de passer par l' equalize en mode réduction de basse. Quel dommage !!!
J' ai de meilleur résultat en bluetooth avec mon dac.
Encore victime du matraquage marketing.
Je vais le garder quand même et essayer de compenser (grrr..)

Tout D'abord un grand merci à l'équipe d'Audiophonics pour l'envoi très rapide. J'ai acquis ce lecteur réseau pour écouter ma musique dématérialisée (Deezer prem. pour moi) sur mon ancienne mais honorable chaine. Branché en RCA sur mon ampli NAD avec des cables un cran plus qualitatifs que ceux fournis, l'écoute me procure un gain qualitatif appréciable par rapport à la connection depuis le PC que j'utilisait avant.
L'application est très stable, les mises à jour fréquentes et les réglages multiples. Le plus est évidemment la présence d'un equalizer 10 Chanels (graphique et métrique) qui permet d'accéder à un ajustage du son en fonction de son environnement ou de ses goûts. La navigation est intuitive et fluide, le passage d'une source à une autre très rapide et les options aisément paramétrables. Je ne suis pas un audiophile accompli mais je peux dire que ce lecteur me procure un plaisir renouvelé à l'écoute de mes playlists. Dans la même fourchette de prix, j'ai longuement étudié l'offre existante et 5 appareils se sont pour moi détachés (Wiim pro, Pro+, Taga harmony, Argo solo et Octavio). Mon choix s'est porté sur le Wiim pro + pour sa connectique qui le rend très polyvalent, une entrée Ethernet pour la stabilité qui se révèle sans faille et équipé d'un DAC recommendable. Je ne parlerai pas des autres capacités de transmission, de pilotage ou de multiroom que je n'ai pas testé mais qui ajoutent un intérêt à ce boitier . Certains le considéreront sous l'angle du DAC intégré avec une préférence pour une marque précise. Je n'ai pas d'arguments à faire valoir dans ce domaine, l'AKM 4493 se trouve embarqué et apprécié dans des systèmes de gamme supérieure. Enfin, une évolution sur la base d'un très bon streamer sera toujours possible grace à ses multiples sorties avec un DAC externe plus haut de gamme . Pour moi, grace à ce lecteur complet et polyvalent, l'expérience est concluante, je ne peux que conseiller.

Valid improvement over laptop/PC as a streamer
I was surprised with the sound quality using Spotify connect over Wiim Pro Plus instead of my laptop. The difference in favor of Wiim is more then obvious.
Pros: Easy of use, Wiim app, SQ for the price, SQ can be further improved with better external power supply.
Cons: Only Coax and Optical outputs (USB would be ideal), no native support for DSDs (at least I couldn't get it working in my setup).

L'application fonctionne très bien, l'AirPlay et les radios aussi.
Il y a des mises à jour régulièrement de l'application.
L'installation est facile.
Le Dac interne est au dessus de mes attentes .
