The FiiO FT7 is a high-end open-back planar magnetic headphone designed for exceptional sound reproduction. It is based on a large 106mm planar driver, one of the biggest in its category, combined with an ultra-thin 1µm PET diaphragm. This diaphragm features a patented multi-layer coating made of 24K gold and pure silver, optimizing both conductivity and musicality.
The FT7 offers an extended frequency response from 5Hz to 40kHz, ensuring faithful reproduction across the entire spectrum, from deep bass to ultra-high frequencies. It comes with a 6N OCC monocrystalline copper cable, treated with cryogenic processing at -192°C, with PFA insulation ensuring excellent signal transmission.
In terms of connectivity, the headphone is equipped with a 4.4mm balanced connector, along with adapters to 4-pin XLR and 6.35mm jack, ensuring wide compatibility with both portable and desktop audio systems. Its design incorporates premium materials such as carbon fiber and natural wood (zebrawood), for a controlled weight of around 427g, combining durability, comfort and acoustic performance.
FiiO FT7 : An ultra high-precision planar diaphragm
The FiiO FT7 uses a latest-generation planar diaphragm based on an ultra-thin PET substrate of only 1µm, enabling exceptional responsiveness and extremely detailed micro-information reproduction.
This diaphragm is manufactured using an advanced 28nm-grade deposition process, ensuring a homogeneous and durable structure. FiiO applies a patented multi-layer coating combining 24K gold and pure silver, each material bringing its own properties :
- Silver promotes excellent conductivity and fast, precise reproduction
- Gold provides harmonic richness and natural sound rendering
This combination results in a sound that is both analytical and musical, with a significant reduction in distortion and excellent long-term stability.
FiiO FT7 : A powerful and optimized magnet array
The FT7 integrates an advanced magnetic system based on a dual-sided push-pull architecture, placing magnets on both sides of the diaphragm for optimal control of its movement.
This system relies on high-performance N52 neodymium magnets, with a total of 18 magnets (9 on each side), generating a magnetic flux of up to 1.5 Tesla. This power ensures excellent dynamics, tight bass and fast transient response.
The magnetic structure also benefits from a patented uniform magnetic field design, with optimized magnet shapes allowing :
- Even force distribution across the entire diaphragm surface
- Reduced deformation (breakup)
- Lower distortion
- Overall improved sound accuracy
FiiO FT7 : A high-purity audiophile cable with cryogenic treatment
The FiiO FT7 comes with a premium cable designed to preserve audio signal integrity. It uses 6N OCC monocrystalline copper (99.99998%), ensuring exceptional conductivity and extremely low signal loss.
This cable undergoes cryogenic treatment at -192°C for 7 days, improving the crystal structure of the copper, reducing internal stress and optimizing electron flow.
Insulation is provided by PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy), characterized by a low dielectric constant (2.1), which reduces losses and improves signal stability. This design contributes to a more natural sound reproduction, with rich mids and better-defined bass.
FiiO FT7 : a versatile interchangeable connectivity system
The FT7 adopts a modular connectivity solution with a detachable cable, allowing great flexibility of use. It comes equipped with a 4.4mm balanced connector, ideal for optimal channel separation and improved signal quality.
To adapt to different equipment, FiiO provides two adapters :
- 4.4mm to 4-pin XLR adapter for balanced desktop amplifiers
- 4.4mm to 6.35mm jack adapter for standard use
This system ensures wide compatibility with audio sources, whether audiophile players, DAC/amplifiers or Hi-Fi systems, while maintaining a high level of performance.
