With the AO300 Pro, SMSL unveils an improved version of its DAC, amplifier and headphone amplifier. Powerful and high-quality, it incorporates high-end components: a MA5332MS Class D amplifier chip, a CS43131 DAC chip and an XMOS XU316 USB interface. These components enable it to decode up to 32-bit 768kHz PCM, DSD up to DSD256 and MQA. In terms of amplification performance, the AO300 Pro is capable of delivering up to 2x165W into 4Ω and 2x85W into 8Ω with a THD+N of only 0.003%. Versatile, it features a comprehensive and varied range of connections and incorporates a Bluetooth 5.3 receiver, an HDMI eARC input port and a subwoofer output for a more immersive 2.1-channel experience. A balanced 4.4mm headphone output and a 6.35mm headphone output are also located on the front panel.

MA5332MS amplification chip
The MA5332MS is a Class D stereo amplifier chip. This MCM (multi-chip module) solution integrates 4 MOSFET transistors. It enables the A0300 to deliver power up to 2x165W under 4Ω and 2x85W under 8Ω.
CS43131 DAC chip
The Cirrus Logic CS43131 chip is a DAC chip integrating a low-noise, high-fidelity headphone amplifier. In fact, this chip is capable of driving audiophile headphones with an impedance of 600Ω and an output power of 5mW per channel. With a 32Ω load, it delivers 32mW per channel.
XMOS XU316 USB interface
The AO300's USB-C input is complemented by XMOS's flagship XU316 interface. This enables it to support high-resolution audio streams up to PCM 32bit 768kHz and DSD up to DSD256.
SMSL AO300 Pro: Bluetooth 5.3 functionality
The AO300 Pro features a Bluetooth 5.3 receiver chip and supports high-resolution aptX HD and LDAC codecs. This allows you to easily enjoy audio sources such as your smartphone for remote use.
SMSL AO300 Pro: HDMI eARC and subwoofer output
For the AO300 Pro model, SMSL has included an HDMI eARC input, allowing volume control and synchronised power-up with a CEC-compatible television. In addition, there is a subwoofer output to transform your Hi-Fi system into a 2.1-channel system and achieve immersive sound with an active subwoofer. The AO300 Pro from SMSL can therefore serve as a small home cinema amplifier.
SMSL AO300 Pro: MQA
The AO300 Pro's Toslink and coaxial optical inputs support MQA and MQA-CD (Master Quality Authenticated) streams thanks to an MQA decoder, allowing you to enjoy the richest and most detailed sound reproduction possible. This amplifier/DAC therefore offers the possibility of enjoying professional audio quality with a reproduction that is as close as possible to the original sound recorded and processed in the studio.
SMSL AO300 Pro: Remote control
The AO300 comes with a remote control offering a full range of functions. It includes the basic play/pause/previous/next functions, volume control, and access to the menu and source selection.
