Ian Canada FifoPi Q7

The Ian Canada FifoPi Q7 II is the new flagship in the FifoPi family of reclockers. It achieves the best performance in terms of jitter and noise by using a number of latest-generation technologies. These include 1bit multi-stage discrete reclockers, low EMI leakage discrete isolators, programmable constant FIFO delay, automatic adaptive depth control, continuous clock mode, high-performance 32bit FIFO engine architecture, enhanced broadband power supply filtering networks and much more.

The Ian Canada FifoPi Q7 is therefore an excellent module for DIY audiophiles wishing to improve the sound quality of high-end DACs, interfaces or network players.

  • Synchronous clock mode for optimum sound quality.
  • New-generation 32bit FIFO engine architecture with large 64MB FIFO memory.
  • Equipped with low-noise 3-stage 1bit discrete reclockers to guarantee the best I2S/DSD signal quality. I2S/DSD signals are almost perfect in terms of signal integrity.
  • Integrated discrete/optical digital isolators for best isolation performance and lowest EMI leakage.
  • I2S input/output support up to 768kHz.
  • Native DSD input/output support up to DSD1024.
  • The integrated DoP decoder is capable of reading native Raspberry Pi DSD on GPIOs up to DSD256.
  • Programmable delay from 0.1s to 1s.
  • The advanced variable-depth FPGA algorithm automatically adjusts the FIFO memory according to audio frequencies, to maintain the same constant delay time between different audio formats and frequencies.
  • New continuous clock mode, allowing the current output clock to remain unchanged until a new audio frequency is locked. This function eliminates as much as possible the background noise of a DAC when starting, stopping or changing audio streams, even if it is not equipped with a MUTE control.
  • A MonitorPi (sold separately) can be used as a controller for the FifoPi Q7.
  • Works with the StationPi Pro touchscreen (sold separately).
  • Two scalable/modifiable XO ports mounted on low-phase-noise local clocks (XO or OCXO, with/without OE pin) support frequencies from 5.6448MHz to 89.304MHz and for the 44.1kHz and 48kHz sample rate families.
  • Works with SinePi (sold separately) to use high-quality external sine clocks.
  • Two separate DC inputs to provide both the FifoPi Q7's own power supply and the Raspberry Pi's optional power supply via GPIO.
  • Power supplies from a 3.3V supercondenser or LifePo4 battery (sold separately) can be supplied directly from the FifoPi Q7's own signal.
  • Optimized, high-bandwidth decoupling networks further enhance power supply performance.
  • The non-isolated GPIO connector is designed for installing DAC controllers, MonitorPi (sold separately) or other Raspberry Pi accessories in isolation mode, without affecting the signal quality of the isolated outputs.
  • The FIFO memory acts as a clock isolator between two clock domains, so that the I2S/DSD signals are synchronized with the MCLK of the XO oscillators.
  • Three groups of outputs: U.FL coaxial connectors, GPIO and GPIO AUX. They are all independent of each other.
  • No Linux driver required. Can also be used for free Raspberry Pi applications.
  • Works with all kinds of digital audio sources such as USB, SPDIF, StationPi, StationPi Pro, etc.
  • Lossless 16-bit to 32-bit internal hardware converter.
  • Bit-Perfect.
  • High-quality XO clocks from the FemtoMck range 45.1584/19.1520MHz.
  • Equipped with a dedicated output connector to control power supplies in SYNC mode.
  • Works with HdmiPoProll (not supplied) using a dedicated connector and SH1.0 cable for Mute/DsdEn signals.
  • The power supply on the Raspberry Pi side can tolerate both 5V and 3.3V.
  • Eliminates the problem of using AS318-B clocks.
