This FiiO BTR15 portable DAC headphone amplifier is a small, affordable device, but no less high-performance, since it integrates a number of market-renowned components: dual ES9219MQ DAC, QCC5125 Bluetooth receiver chip and XMOS XU316 USB interface. This high-quality chipset enables it to support high-resolution streams up to PCM 32bit 384kHz, DSD256 and MQA via its USB-C input. In addition, it features high-quality wireless connectivity thanks to its Qualcomm Bluetooth 5.1 receiver chip, which accepts numerous Bluetooth codecs: SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX LL, aptX Adaptive, aptX HD and LDAC. In terms of amplification, it features a balanced structure and two headphone outputs, one on a 3.5mm jack and one balanced on a 4.4mm jack. All of this is enhanced by a beautiful OLED display that provides information on the track currently playing, as well as indications of the FiiO BTR15's operating mode. It's the perfect companion for a smartphone, tablet or computer.
FiiO has selected two ES9019Q2M DAC chips for their versatility. This DAC is a high-performance 32bit stereo chip with integrated headphone amplification and MQA rendering. Used to their full potential and combined with an XMOS XU316 USB interface, they enable the FiiO BTR15 to support up to 32bit 384kHz PCM, native DSD up to DSD256 and MQA.
The BTR15 incorporates a Qualcomm QCC5125 Bluetooth 5.1 receiver chip, offering a reception range of up to 10m and supporting a wide range of codecs: SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX LL, aptX Adaptative, aptX HD and LDAC.
The BTR15's headphone amplifier stage is balanced to preserve a high level of detail and purity in the final sound reproduction. The BTR15 has two headphone outputs: 3.5mm jack and balanced 4.4mm jack. It is capable of delivering up to 340mW of power at 32 ohms on its balanced output, and up to 125mW of power at 32 ohms on its 3.4mm jack output. This means it can power a wide variety of headphones and in-ear monitors on the market.
This portable DAC headphone amplifier from FiiO has all the essentials in terms of control: on its side panel, various buttons let you control volume and operating mode. However, if you want more advanced controls, you can use the brand's control application to access settings such as a customizable equalizer.
