Does not improve sound quality, quite the opposite! Beware!
I bought Katana dac immediately with isolator. And I was not satisfied with the sound. The sound was,"dry, sterile, colorless" I listened this combination for almost half of the year because I was convinced that it should sound better than without isolator. After I read on Darko Audio review of Katana where it is stated that Katana sounds better without isolator I tested it and it is corect. Without isolator the sound is just fuller, with more details, more mids, more colors. Just better in every way. So my advice is to stay away from isolator, it does more harm than good.
