The iBasso DC03, successor of the DC02, is largely based on the principle of the DC01, while making a modification to its conversion/amplification stage as well as to its output. Amplification stage

The DC03 offers an output voltage of 2Vrms at 300Ω and 1.61Vrms at 32Ω. It delivers a power of 80mW at 32Ω, which is more than enough to accompany EMI with ease.

Volume control per application

Windows 10 and Android 5.0 (or higher) support the UAC2.0 protocol by default. However, for compatibility reasons, Android smartphone manufacturers still use the SRC protocol on the audio output. When the DC03 is connected, the volume is set to maximum by default and the device's software algorithm is used to reduce the volume. While this method does reduce the volume, it does not reduce the noise threshold. So iBasso has developed a volume control application using the UAC2.0 protocol to allow hardware 64 step volume control while reducing the noise threshold and providing much better audio performance.
