HAT Inverter Battery Management System for Raspberry Pi

This inverter is designed to be mounted on a Raspberry Pi or any other SBC sharing its GPIO pinout. The HAT is equiped with a two-way GPIO port that allows chain mounting other modules and HATs above and below.
Its form-factor and spacers are scaled on the RPI (works with all models including 2-3-3B +). It can be easily integrated to different types of installation with minimal need for additionnal space.
The circuit handles fast charge / discharge of the batteries (2A input and output) during operation for a comfortable and safe use. Once mounted, it is possible to add a software indicator as to virtually display the remaining battery. Moreover it is possible to program an automatic shut-down when the battery is too low.
Please note, only the inverter board is included to this item: the Rasbperry Pi nor the battery are provided.
Ease of integration
HAT inverter has a top slot for flat lithium-ion battery 3.7V. The batteries can be stacked to increase battery duration; however, it requires the use of cells less than 9mm thick.
It is not mandatory to use a flat battery format. The interconnection between the inverter and the battery is made thanks to a PH 2.0mm port that can connect to any lithium battery pack or even a holder with removable batteries, as long as the card receives 3.7V and the batteries can handle 2A.
ON / OFF
The HAT inverter board is equipped with an ON / OFF button located on the short edge of the circuit. Once mounted on the RPI, the button side falls close to the Micro-SD card slot
Still on this same side, the PH 2xpin connector connects the inverter to the battery. This proximity allows a lasting connection with extremely short cable length.
Three LEDs indicate that the charging cycle is still active and may indicate the remaining battery level as well.
The charging circuit is independent of the RPI power circuit. That is to say that it is possible to charge the battery while the RPI is running.
The board has all the essential protection against battery excessive discharge and overload.
Caution this HAT BMS UPS can not operate while the HDMI port is active. The module is not intended for this use.
The Micro-USB port on the inverter is designed to charge the battery only. Do not connect it with your Raspberry Pi own micro-USB input.
The charge / discharge manager and the protections can handle any types of Lithium Battery as long as it delivers 3.7V with a discharge current of at least 2A.
If you want to add batteries with one another (with a battery cradle or in a custom assembly) make sure that the cells are connected in parallel (and especially not in serie).
