The Matrix Element X2 is part of the brand's line of network players, functioning as a complete standalone source device for your audio system and bringing your traditional HiFi system into the world of high-resolution streaming.
A brand new interface
The Element X2 is equipped with a 3.46" LCD touch screen. When playing from the network or locally with the MA player, a lot of information about the track is displayed. In addition, the touch control allows easy and intuitive navigation through the various menus of the device.
Many possible sources
With the Element X2, you can enjoy your music in many ways. Whether your files are stored on a device on your local network (computer, NAS...), on a USB storage device or on your smartphone, they are accessible from the Element X2. The streamer also supports DLNA and AirPlay2 streaming protocols as well as Spotify Connect and TIDAL Connect, allowing you to send your music to the X2 directly from a smartphone, for example.
Many music streaming services are also accessible from the network player, such as Spotify, TIDAL or Qobuz, but also to a wide range of web radios thanks to vTuner.
MA Remote app
With the free MA Remote mobile app you can browse your local music files, access your favorite streaming services and web radios, and control playback remotely, right from your smartphone. Firmware updates for the Element X2 can also be managed through the app.
An efficient preamplifier stage
The Element X2 features an excellent preamplifier with an analog gain of +10dB. When the preamplifier is activated, it can deliver audio signals at outputs up to 15.8Vrms. The Hyper-Control technology keeps noise and distortion levels extremely low.
A powerful headphone amplifier
The X2 also incorporates a balanced headphone amplifier, consisting of eight independent amplifier units. Each pair is connected in parallel to provide high current, high power and very low noise and distortion.
Digital and analog inputs
The Element X2 provides numerous digital inputs, but also a stereo RCA analog input. This makes it possible to connect the vast majority of HiFi devices to the streamer. In addition, a three-step gain control allows the X2 to adapt to the output level of the source.
HDMI ARC
An HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) port has been added to the Element X2. When connected to a display or projector that also supports ARC, the digital audio signal can be transferred to the Element X2. In addition, if your device also supports HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control), playback on the Element X2 can be controlled directly by your display's remote control.
Femtosecond clock
In digital audio, it's all about timing. A high-precision clock is therefore the basis for accurate playback. Here, the Element X2 uses a Crystek CCHD-950 ultra-low phase noise femtosecond oscillator. This provides effective and significant jitter reduction for a more realistic and detailed sound.
Asynchronous or synchronous
The Element X2 can operate in either synchronous or asynchronous mode, depending on your choice. In asynchronous mode, the master clock of the DAC chip comes from the Crystek CCHD-950 integrated clock, the clock signal of the source device not being used. In synchronous mode, on the other hand, the Crystek CCHD-950 oscillator is deactivated and the clock signal is recovered from the source device.
Isolation totale
The X2 incorporates two independent power supplies to power the ARM processor and the digital audio processing circuits separately. These independent circuits are linked by optocouplers for complete isolation. The audio circuitry also uses an independent linear power supply to provide crystal clear playback.
High bandwidth
The streamer is equipped with a Gigabit Ethernet port to ensure the most stable connection possible when streaming high resolution audio.
WiFi
The X2 can also be connected in WiFi thanks to the integration of a dual-band antenna 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
Trigger
The trigger ports on the back of the device allow you to turn your streamer and audio system on and off depending on the signal received.
