IBASSO AMP19 Amplifier Module for DX340

The AMP19 from iBasso is an amplifier module designed for the brand's DX340 portable audio player. It combines a Nutube 6P1 vacuum triode and a discrete Class A amplification stage on a single board, offering two distinct sound signatures. In Tube mode, the Nutube acts as a preamplifier and adds more harmonic richness, with a warmer presentation and vocals with smoother textures. Super Class A mode relies on 20 dual transistors and can deliver up to 2A, favoring a large current reserve, fast transients and a denser presentation.

To extend its driving capability, the AMP19 can be powered by an external 12V source: this power supply raises the output stage voltage from ±6.5V to ±12V and allows up to 2150mW + 2150mW into 32Ω in Super Class A mode. The board thus retains a portable format while being able to drive demanding headphones. In Tube mode, the JRC analog volume control offers 100 adjustment steps and reduces noise at low volume, while the suspended mounting on PORON material limits vibrations transmitted to the tubes.
