With the Ananda Unveiled, Hifiman presents the latest evolution of one of their most renowned planar magnetic headphones. In addition to numerous improvements to the magnet array, diaphragm and headphone structure itself, this Unveiled version offers an unprecedented degree of openness at the rear of the drivers, further enhancing the headphones' design qualities by eliminating distortion caused by sound wave refraction within the acoustic cavity.
HIFIMAN Ananda Unveiled : A truly open-back headphone
The design philosophy behind open-back headphones has always been to leave the back of the drivers open in order to avoid sound wave refraction. However, the traditional grille design, although sufficient in most cases, is not optimal and still causes refractions that detract from the overall sound quality. HiFiMAN presents a grille-free window opening design, developed to optimise sound wave evacuation, which prevents refraction and improves sound quality by reducing distortion.
HIFIMAN Ananda Unveiled : New magnet array design
Here, Hifiman's classic stealth magnet array has been further improved, designed to minimise the impact of the magnets on the sound. This array originally allows sound waves to pass through the magnets without creating interference, diffraction or turbulence, ensuring more accurate sound reproduction and wideband reproduction. Furthermore, the new design also optimises the total magnetic power of the array, resulting in sensitivity that rivals rare earth magnets without the need for them.
HIFIMAN Ananda Unveiled : Ultra-thin membrane
The Ananda Unveiled headphones also stand out thanks to their diaphragm. This updated version features a diaphragm that is 60% thinner than its predecessor, with a thickness of less than 1 micrometre. This allows it to respond more quickly to impulses while maintaining exceptional detail and extremely low distortion.
HIFIMAN Ananda Unveiled : Improved wearing comfort
When designing the Ananda Unveiled, wearing comfort was also a particular focus. For example, the ear cups are asymmetrical to better fit the natural shape of the ear. Furthermore, the headband has been redesigned compared to its predecessor to distribute the weight of the headphones evenly while lightening the overall structure by 30g, ensuring long listening sessions without any discomfort.

Given the unprecedented openness of the Ananda Unveiled, it comes with a pair of magnetic covers to protect the headphones from potential metal objects that could get into them when not in use.
