MOONDROP HORIZON Headphone

The Moondrop Horizon is an open-back headphone based on a 50mm dynamic driver specially developed by the brand for this model. This new driver is accompanied by an N55 dual magnet magnetic circuit, a combination that delivers a frequency response very close to the VDSF curve, resulting in very present bass, soft treble and a natural overall tone.

Moondrop Horizon: 50mm dynamic driver

The Horizon headphones feature the brand new driver developed by Moondrop. The result of two years of research, this 50mm dynamic driver benefits from improved dynamic range, reduced distortion and extended frequency response.

To achieve good high-frequency extension with a 50mm diaphragm, it is essential to find the right balance between rigidity and damping. To meet this requirement, Moondrop has developed a titanium-plated polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) dome coupled with a silica gel suspension. This combination provides both excellent rigidity and response speed while offering significant movement amplitude and damping to the diaphragm.

This brand new driver is coupled with a custom-developed magnetic circuit, using two N55 magnets instead of a traditional single magnet design. This results in a magnetic power of 1.85T, allowing the new driver design to be used to its full potential.

Moondrop Horizon: Frequency response close to the VDSF curve

Thanks to its new driver design, the Horizon's frequency response follows the VDSF target curve beautifully, delivering rare sub-bass performance for a dynamic driver and high frequencies that are very gentle on the ear.
