FOSI AUDIO MERAK CD Player Silver

The FOSI AUDIO MERAK is a CD player with an integrated DAC and headphone amplifier, designed to provide precise CD playback while offering several integration options in a Hi-Fi or desktop system. It combines a CD playback mechanism with an optimized servo system featuring ESP (Electronic Shock Protection), providing 60 seconds of buffer memory to limit interruptions caused by vibrations. Its architecture is based on the SC6137D, CS43131, and 2x TPA6120 circuits, with conversion up to PCM 16bit 96kHz for CDs and files played from a USB drive. The MERAK supports CDDA, CD-R/CD-RW, as well as FLAC, WAV, WMA, AAC, MP3, and APE formats from a USB drive, and also allows CDs to be ripped to a USB drive. It features a 3.5mm headphone output compatible with headphones from 16 to 300Ω, a line output, an optical output, and a 12V Trigger output, while a remote control allows playback and input/output selection to be controlled. It is powered by 5V / 2A, and its firmware can be updated via the USB-A port.

FOSI AUDIO MERAK: Precise CD Playback and ESP Protection

The FOSI AUDIO MERAK integrates an optimized servo system designed to ensure precise disc reading, smooth playback, and reduced mechanism wear. Its ESP Anti-Skip technology uses 60 seconds of buffer memory to limit interruptions caused by vibrations and maintain stable playback. The player supports CDDA discs as well as CD-R and CD-RW discs with partial readability, with original pressed discs recommended by the manufacturer. SACDs are only supported when they feature a CD layer. The MERAK also allows CDs to be ripped to a USB drive and digital files stored on it to be played directly in MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, APE, and WMA formats.

FOSI AUDIO MERAK: DAC, Headphone Amplifier and Versatile Connectivity

Thanks to its CS43131 DAC combined with the SC6137D and 2x TPA6120 circuits, the MERAK combines a CD player, digital-to-analog conversion, and headphone amplification in a single device. Its 3.5mm headphone output delivers at least 210mW + 210mW into 32Ω with THD+N < 1%, with an SNR of 121dB, THD+N of 0.002%, a dynamic range of 121dB, and a noise floor of less than or equal to 3µV. The line output reaches at least 2 Vrms, with an SNR of 124dB, THD+N of 0.0009%, a dynamic range of 124dB, and a noise floor of ≤ 3µV. The LINE and optical outputs allow the MERAK to be connected to an amplifier, DAC, or active speakers, while the 12V Trigger output allows its power-on operation to be synchronized with certain compatible Fosi Audio devices.
