Greseng MH-D30 Tubes CD player DTS HD Bluetooth 5.2
The Greseng MH-D30 is a tube CD player designed to handle the playback and conversion of digital sources within a hi-fi system. It is based on a hybrid architecture combining an SPHE8104 DAC with a Beijing 6S6 tube output stage, in order to influence the final sound reproduction without altering the signal structure, resulting in a more nuanced sound whilst maintaining a low level of distortion.
Designed for versatile integration into home audio systems, it combines balanced and unbalanced analogue outputs with digital outputs, allowing the audio signal to be routed to an amplifier, an external DAC or headphones. This approach is further enhanced by the addition of USB and Bluetooth 5.2 inputs, enabling the playback of digital files and wireless streaming, whilst its aluminium chassis stabilises the playback mechanism and ensures consistent performance across a variety of Hi-Fi setups.
Greseng MH-D30: Connectivity and audio output
The Greseng MH-D30 offers a very wide range of connection options. It features XLR and RCA outputs for analogue connections, as well as Toslink optical and coaxial outputs for digital connections. But that’s not all, this CD player also features a 3.5mm headphone jack on the front panel.
In terms of inputs, the player combines its CD mechanism with a USB-A port capable of playing audio files from a USB stick with a capacity of up to 128GB. Finally, the MH-D30 is also equipped with Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity for wireless use with a smartphone.
Greseng MH-D30: Conversion architecture and analogue stage
The conversion section utilises an SPHE8104 DAC chip to convert the digital signal to analogue, whilst four Texas Instruments 5532 operational amplifiers handle signal conditioning and ensure output stability. This architecture is complemented by a Beijing 6S6 tube stage positioned at the output, which influences the sound signature without altering the frequency response or introducing measurable distortion, but delivers a richer and more delicate sound. The system guarantees a dynamic range of 108dB and a signal-to-noise ratio of 105dB, ensuring stable reproduction in a variety of Hi-Fi setups.
Greseng MH-D30: Mechanical design and application
The aluminium chassis provides structural rigidity, minimising vibrations that could affect the playback mechanism. An infrared remote control is supplied with the unit, allowing for remote operation, whilst the Samsung VFD display ensures clear readability of playback information. In addition, it features a memory function so you can resume playback from where you left off in the event of an interruption. Finally, a small window allows you to see the tubes in operation.
