IAN CANADA 92A DAC Module Kit

The Ian Canada 92A is a dual-mono DAC kit based on two ES9038Q2M chips. Designed for synchronised digital-to-analogue conversion via an external clock in SYNC mode, it utilises the FifoPi Q7III module, which buffers and reclocks the I2S stream, thereby stabilising jitter prior to conversion, whilst the dual-mono architecture isolates the two channels to improve separation and reproduction accuracy. This foundation is complemented by a feedback-free OPA861 balanced I/V stage, which converts the DAC’s output current to voltage whilst maintaining a linear response.

This approach is extended with the ReceiverPi DDC II, which consolidates digital inputs into a coherent I2S bus, whilst the distribution of the MCLK from the FifoPi to the DAC ensures direct synchronisation with the reference clock. The StationPi SMT acts here as an integration platform, organising the connections between modules and facilitating the addition of a Raspberry Pi or USB interface. Finally, the integration of the MonitorPi Pro ensures system control and monitoring, thereby enabling centralised management.
