The FiiO K17 is a high-end DAC and headphone amplifier designed to deliver a comprehensive and versatile audio experience, whether for audiophiles or users looking for an all-in-one device for their home office or living room. It stands out for its balanced architecture, high amplification power, and extensive connectivity, making it a top choice in its class.
The K17 features a combination of high-quality AKM DAC chips: an AK4191 paired with two AK4499EX chips, each dedicated to a single channel. This configuration enables highly accurate digital-to-analog conversion, with a resolution of up to 32-bit/768 kHz and native DSD512 support. The 8-channel-to-4-channel design reduces common-mode interference, thereby improving channel separation and sound dynamics. The K17 also features a dedicated DSP (MS21586Q) for professional 31-band PEQ tuning, offering advanced sound customization via dedicated PC and mobile apps.

Every stage of the signal processing, from digital-to-analog conversion to amplification, is designed to operate in differential mode, ensuring faithful sound reproduction and minimal crosstalk. Many components of the audio circuit, including the I/V converter and the LPF stages, utilize multiple OPA1612 op-amps to deliver excellent dynamic range.


The amplifier stage is based on a discrete circuit using ON Semiconductor MJE243/253 transistors, ensuring high output power (up to 4000 mW) and low output impedance. This allows for the efficient driving of a wide range of headphones and earphones, with an adaptive impedance ranging from 8 to 350 ohms depending on the output type (balanced or unbalanced). Five switchable gain levels are available to accommodate all types of headphones.
To preserve signal integrity, the K17 features physical separation of the printed circuit boards (PCBs) dedicated to the digital, analog, and power supply sections. This isolation prevents interference between the different parts of the device, ensuring maximum audio signal purity. The analog and digital power supplies are also separate, further reducing the risk of crosstalk and noise.


The K17 uses three ultra-low-phase-noise crystal oscillators from ACCUSILICON, including the AS318-L (45.1584 MHz, 49.1520 MHz) and AS318-Pro (24.576 MHz) models. These components significantly reduce the impact of phase noise on audio signals, enabling faithful reproduction of PCM and DSD signals at various sampling rates. Thanks to this technology, the K17 ensures precise signal synchronization, which is crucial for high-resolution listening and a consistent sound experience.
The K17 is equipped with an X2000 multi-core processor, combining an XBurst2 main core and two logic cores, delivering high computing power while maintaining low power consumption. This processor is complemented by a dual-core ESP32-S3 SoC, capable of operating at up to 240MHz, ensuring a smooth and responsive user experience. The independent MS21586Q DSP, capable of 64-bit double-precision calculations at 360MHz, enables advanced audio processing, including 31-band parametric equalization (PEQ), without any loss of quality.

The K17 stands out for its comprehensive connectivity: USB-C, USB-A, Toslink optical, and coaxial inputs, as well as balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs. It supports high-resolution streaming (Wi-Fi/Ethernet with Roon Ready and AirPlay support), Bluetooth 5.1 (SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD, aptX LL, aptX Adaptive, LDAC), and can function as a preamplifier or external DAC. Its 3.93-inch color touchscreen and custom Android 12 interface make it easy to navigate and control features, while its aluminum chassis combines durability with a retro aesthetic.
With its compact dimensions (24.46 x 21.3 x 6.68 cm) and weight of 2.75 kg, the K17 is designed to fit seamlessly into an office or living room setting. Its design combines retro elegance with modernity, featuring physical controls and an intuitive touchscreen. The K17 also features advanced capabilities such as a 32-band equalizer, Roon and AirPlay compatibility, and a hi-fi preamp mode, making it an extremely versatile device.
