The Denafrips Pontus II 12Th-1 NOS R2R balanced dual-mono DAC represents an excellent high-end digital-to-analog conversion solution, offering ececption sound performance. Here, each channel is equipped with an independent high-speed FPGA to facilitate digital signal decoding by means of 4 sets of high-precision R-2R networks. The choice of such a design results in very low linearity error, high decoding speed and low digital noise, not only to ensure that the audio signal has very low distortion, but also to ensure very low background noise.

All digital inputs are buffered in FIFO memory and reclocked by integrated femtosecond oscillators. Excellent jitter rejection makes the Denafrips Pontus II 12Th-1 much less dependent on the quality of the source equipment's clock.

Denafrips Pontus II 12Th-1: A customized power stage

The Denafrips Pontus II 12Th-1 features a linear power supply stage specifically developed for this DAC and isolated by a 1.5mm-thick metal case to considerably limit interference.

Placed beneath the DAC board, this power supply circuit embeds two large O-Core transformers for the digital and analog sections, low ESR capacitors and a super-linear linear power supply to provide the conversion stage with a clean, stable electrical signal.

Denafrips Pontus II 12TH-1: Comprehensive connectivity

The Denafrips Pontus II 12Th-1 features comprehensive connectivity for easy integration into the vast majority of audio systems. Inputs include USB-B, I2S via HDMI, Toslink optical, AES/EBU and coaxial. On the output side, the DAC provides unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR.
