The KANN series is a line of portable digital music players, particularly popular with audiophiles for their performance focused on high output and clear sound. The KANN MAX, the fourth product in the KANN series, builds on the advantages of the other models, with higher output levels and greater portability. It offers four gain levels and an output of up to 15Vrms, allowing it to accompany the vast majority of headphones in an optimal way, while maintaining a very low noise level. The KANN MAX is also equipped with four ESS ES9038Q2M digital-to-analog conversion chips and the unique Astell&Kern architecture, ensuring an exceptional level of performance.

A perfectly designed circuit

The KANN MAX is equipped with a high level output capable of maintaining a very low noise level, reflecting Astell&Kern's philosophy of offering very high sound fidelity. To achieve this, the player uses an analog volume controller to provide a rich, lossless dynamic range. By configuring the power supply for each audio block separately, the KANN MAX is able to stably provide the required power for each audio circuit. With this design, parasitic ripple noise from the DC-DC power supply is eliminated.

The ultra-high efficiency and low noise levels of the KANN MAX were achieved through a different circuit design, including creating and dividing the PCB into 12 layers and repurposing the amplifier circuit.

PCM 32bit 768kHz & DSD512

The KANN MAX allows bit-perfect playback up to PCM 32bit 768kHz and DSD512, ensuring incredible sound quality, as close as possible to the original recordings.

Bluetooth 5.0 & BT Sink

The Bluetooth 5.0 standard offers a faster transmission speed and greater range than the 4.2 standard, providing a more stable wireless connection. The KANN MAX also supports the high-definition transmission codecs aptX HD and LDAC to provide audiophiles with high-quality wireless audio.

The BT Sink function allows the KANN MAX to be connected to an external device via Bluetooth, so that it can function as a source or receiver.

AK File Drop

The new AK File Drop function of KANN MAX makes file transfer easier and more convenient. With it, you can freely transfer your files wirelessly from a computer, smartphone or FTP software connected to the same network.
