With its S17 Pro, Aune unveils a powerful headphone amplifier that can also be used as a preamplifier in a Hi-Fi installation. This headphone amplifier features discrete components and balanced outputs. Its Class A amplification stage features a pair of JFET transistors for the headphone outputs, plus two AOPs per output for a total of 16 AOPs. It also features an R2R volume control and an attractive color display on the front panel. Inputs include stereo RCA and balanced stereo XLR. Powerful, the S17 Pro is capable of driving any type of headphone on the market, from 32Ω to 600Ω impedance.
A powerful amplifier stage
The Aune S17 Pro's amplification stage is made up of TWIN JFETs, ideal for headphone amplification. In addition, each output channel incorporates 2 pairs of transistors, giving a total of 16 transistors. This Class A headphone amplifier also features two levels of current adjustment: 50mA and 100mA per JFET. Overall, the sound of the Aune S17 Pro is warm and detailed, with performance reaching a very low level of distortion.
Two gain levels to drive all types of headphones
The S17 Pro can drive headphones with impedances ranging from 32 to 600 ohms. Output power can reach up to 7.5W to drive the most demanding headphones.
Efficient heat dissipation and clean power supply
A three-dimensional structure consisting of internal heat sinks, an imposing plate and the chassis forms a highly efficient complete cooling system guaranteeing the stability of the Class A amplifier stage. A 50W toroidal transformer coupled to 19200uF array capacitors feeds the digital and analog sections independently to limit any interference on the analog section. These features enable the S17 Pro to be powerful while delivering a rich, clear sound.
