USB to I2S DSD




This USB to high quality I2S interface module allows you to get an I2S output / DSD from a computer source.

Combined with a DAC working with I2S input it enables you to build a complete product for reading from digital streams from a USB source such as a Windows, Mac or Linux machine.

It uses an ARM Cortex M3 ATSAM3U processor and convert the signals using a CPLD XILINX XC2C64A model. These use two TCXO low phase noise clocks 24.5760 & 22.5792 MHz. The interface module can thus handle high sampling frequencies (up to 384kHz / DSD512) with a low jitter.

Another version of this module is available which has an additionnal S/PDIF interface.

Déçu!
J'ai acheté cette carte DAC pour changer une carte XMOS XU208, en pensant que cela allait m'apporter une amélioration au niveau du son.
Ben non! La carte fonctionne bien sûr mais, reliée à mon streamer SOtM SMS-200 et le tout correctement paramétré, la carte ne reconnais que péniblement le DSD64 en provenance d'Audirvana, aussi bien en natif qu'en Dop. A chaque changements de morceaux, un clac se fait entendre dans les enceintes et les morceaux ne s'enchainent pas. Le DSD 128, on oublie! Le son est parasité par un bruit blanc assez faible mais audible.
Par contre la carte fonctionne parfaitement avec du PCM et le résultat est bien sûr correct.
Je regrette un peu mon investissement et j'ai donc réinstallé ma carte XMOS qui elle fonctionne parfaitement, surtout depuis qu'elle est connectée sur un streamer SOtM.

Complément idéal de la carte DAC AK4497
Voulant évoluer vers la lecture d’enregistrement Hi- Res, Audiophonics m’a conseillé cette interface digitale USB. Avec une loupe, la soudure des pins est aisée, ensuite il reste à l’insérer l’interface dans le support sur la carte DAC, les 4 visses permettent un bon maintien de l’ensemble. J’ai relié mon DAC à un IPad via un câble USB, et je découvre toute la qualité des enregistrements en haute résolution.

Amanero Combo 384 Review
Amanero Combo 384 review.

I received the module quickly and in good condition.

I purchased this module because I was looking for a low jitter USB interface that supports PCM up to 384 KHz. I am a MAC user and the Amanero works fine on a MAC without the need for drivers.

Jitter performance is not the best, it gets bad above 96KHz Some suggest to use XMOS-based USB receivers for sample rates above 96 KHz.

The whole point of using isochronous USB audio with asynchronous feedback and two local master clocks is to get low jitter .....

Major reasons for this are poor power supply decoupling, not the best master clocks and a FPGA that injects significant jitter. I2S timing signal from the Atmel processor has lower jitter.

The I2S clock and data signals are not correctly aligned, alignment gets critical at 352.8 KHz and 384 KHz.

The 3V3 regulator is not the best in terms of noise, line & load regulation & PSRR. I replaced it with a pin compatible LP5907-3V3 that offers better performance. Linear Technology has even better one's (LT3045).

I also improved power supply decoupling using chokes (2.2mH) and low esr V-polytan capacitors. Passive filtering of the master clock supply offers biggest improvements in jitter performance.

I replaced the master clocks with lower jitter clocks from Kyocera Electric.

The suggested digital isolators will add 100ps of extra jitter (typical) and input-output coupling capacitance is rather high (4pF).

I am now very pleased with the modified Amanero module.

Only 4 stars because I had to modify the module in order to get desired performance.

Super produit. J'ai flashé le firmware avec CPLD_for_1080 / 2003be_71A. Je l'utilise sur un module AK4497EQ avec AOP changés et Ap-Linux, excellent !
