This digital audio processor from Wondom uses an ADAU1701 26/58bit DSP chip module. This digital audio processor from Wondom uses an ADAU1701 26/58bit DSP chip module. This audio preamplifier/processor features a 2-channel to 4-channel configuration via RCA connectors, as well as a GPIO port for use with an external interface. The front panel also features a number of potentiometers for adjusting different frequencies (HPF/LPF filters) and volume level, and a relative gain potentiometer on the rear panel. The Wondom ADAU1701 supports Sigma Studio programming via its GPIO port (ICP5), and each control knob is screen-printed according to the corresponding program resources. Dedicated spaces also let you anotate certain specifications to suit your needs. All in all, this digital audio processor offers a complete interface for programming SigmaStudio with the Wondom ICP5 programmer.

Wondom ADAU1701: 2 inputs, 4 outputs with 2-way digital crossover

The Wondom ADAU1701 features a bi-directional digital crossover for precise audio signal distribution. The output stage comprises two dedicated bass channels (DAC0 and DAC1, BANK A) and two dedicated midrange channels (DAC2 and DAC3, BANK B).

Wondom ADAU1701: 4-pot interface for frequency and volume control

The 4 potentiometers of the Wondom ADAU1701 serve as high-pass or low-pass filters and volume control. Two switches are also provided for phase control and mute. Filter setting ranges and potentiometer functionality can be customized via SigmaStudio. Here are the presettings for the various potentiometers on the front panel of the Wondom ADAU1701:

  • POT1 (MP3/ADC2): high-pass filter for the middle output channel, default setting range 3kHz-20kHz
  • POT2 (MP8/ADC3): low-pass filter for bass output channel, default setting range 210Hz-3kHz
  • POT3 (MP9/ADC0): high-pass filter for bass output channel, default setting range 10Hz-310Hz
  • POT4 (VOL): global volume control

Wondom ADAU1701: full support for Sigma Studio programming

The ICP5 GPIO port coupled with the ADAU1701 DSD chip turns this device into the perfect programming support for SigmaStudio. Wondom has developed an open-source demo program that can be used as a basis and for easily restoring the product to its original parameters using a HEX file.
