Bought mainly for the metal shell, to be put on an Iego 8095 (silver). But the screws of the Iego broke. So I had to use the whole Viborg connector as a replacement.
I noticed:
- reduced transparancy compared to the Iego;
- shorter reverbs, less spaciousness, as if there is an extra curtain between the music and me;
- much sweeter highs;
- better macro-dynamics;
- overall calm and smooth and still pretty detailed sound.
I am impressed because of the quality: heavy metal case, good screws, nice finish. The sound is a matter of taste. I guess it is copper against silver conductors. For only about €40 this is a steal.
I use it with an Audiophonics Purifi power-amp. They go very well together in terms of sound and also this iec fits. Unfortunately the Oyaide c-004 doesn’t fit in the Audiophonics iec-inlet.
I would like to have the sweetness and dynamics of this Viborg partnered with the transparency of the Iego. But the Oyaide doesn’t fit. And the NCF Furutech 50 is more than 10 times the price.
