DOUK AUDIO Z1 Gaming Headphone Amplifier

The Douk Audio Z1 is a desktop headphone amplifier and USB DAC designed for Hi-Fi and gaming, combining music playback, microphone management and mixing functions in a single device. It integrates an ESS9039Q2M converter and supports up to 24bit 192kHz via the optical input, while its PC-USB input accepts signals up to PCM 16bit 48kHz.

The Z1 features 3.5mm and 4.4mm balanced headphone outputs, with the latter delivering up to 430mW at 32Ω, compared to 300mW at 32Ω for the 3.5mm output. It accepts USB-C, optical and AUX sources, as well as microphones via XLR or 3.5mm Jack, with 48V phantom power for compatible microphones.

In USB mode, its mixing function allows USB, AUX and microphone signals to be combined and then sent to the headphones, AUX output and host computer, while a MIC OUT output can transmit the voice signal only. The Z1 also offers dedicated bass, midrange and treble controls, with a range of ±10dB for bass and ±6dB for midrange and treble, as well as 8 selectable DAC filter modes. Its physical controls, LED indicators and selectors allow quick management of sources, microphone and various audio settings.

Compatible with Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS, it can be used with a PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch or smartphone for gaming, voice communications and music playback. Its frequency response extends from 20Hz to 20kHz (±0.5dB), with a THD+N of 0.001% and an SNR ≥110dB. Its aluminum chassis measures 160 × 118 × 40mm, providing a robust construction suited to desktop use.
