The Dayton Audio SA1000DSP is a class D home cinema amplifier designed to drive one or more subwoofers with power up to 1000W. Its high-efficiency architecture limits heat dissipation and energy loss, while the built-in DSP brings together the essential bass management functions to ensure a precise and controlled response.
Intended for home cinema installations and audio systems requiring an active bass section, it combines amplification, parametric equalization, filtering, phase adjustment, delay, limiting and automatic room correction within a single unit. This approach simplifies subwoofer integration while allowing its behavior to be finely adapted to the room, the enclosure used and the requirements of the installation.
Dayton Audio SA1000DSP: 1000W class D amplification
The Dayton Audio SA1000DSP is a home cinema amplifier dedicated to subwoofer systems, capable of delivering up to 1000W thanks to a high-efficiency class D architecture. Its high-frequency switching limits energy loss and heat generation, while maintaining stable power to drive demanding enclosures. This power reserve allows for a deep and controlled bass reproduction, without sacrificing the precision of impacts or the clarity of the low frequencies.
Dayton Audio SA1000DSP: Built-in DSP and bass management
Beyond amplification, the SA1000DSP integrates a digital processing engine bringing together the main adjustment tools for a bass system. The user has access in particular to adjustable crossover filters, phase and delay controls, a limiter as well as a full parametric equalization, avoiding the need for external processors and simplifying the wiring of the installation. This architecture allows the subwoofer's behavior to be precisely adapted to the system configuration and to the acoustic characteristics of the room.
Dayton Audio SA1000DSP: Control interface
Adjustments can be made from the front panel of the amplifier or via a control interface accessible from any web browser. This solution allows all parameters to be configured from a computer, even when the amplifier is installed near the enclosure and away from the listening position, without requiring the installation of a mobile app. Several units can be integrated into the same network, while custom presets can be saved and then transferred from one amplifier to another.
Dayton Audio SA1000DSP: Automatic room equalization
The Auto EQ system automatically adjusts a 5-band parametric equalization in order to account for the enclosure used and its acoustic environment. After connecting the supplied calibration microphone, the SA1000DSP analyzes the low-frequency response and applies the necessary corrections to obtain a more consistent level throughout the room. The settings can then be fine-tuned manually to adapt the result to listening preferences and to the system configuration.
Dayton Audio SA1000DSP: Configurable limiter
Since the available power can heavily stress the subwoofer, the SA1000DSP integrates a limiter intended to control the output level and to protect the driver. The threshold, attack and release parameters can be adjusted independently on each channel or linked for dual mono operation. This management allows excessive peaks to be contained while retaining a dynamic response suited to film soundtracks and music listening.
Dayton Audio SA1000DSP: 8-band parametric equalization
In addition to the five bands used by the Auto EQ, three additional bands bring the total number of parametric corrections to 8. Each band has a quality factor Q continuously adjustable from 0.4 to 14, a frequency range between 20Hz and 200Hz and a correction ranging from -12 dB to +6 dB. The five bands of the automatic equalization can also be configured as high-pass or low-pass filters, as bass or treble shelves, or as notch filters, offering precise control over the subwoofer's integration into the installation.
