The Dunu Kima 2 are dynamic in-ear monitors designed to deliver a wide soundstage in a compact form factor. They feature a DLC-coated diaphragm covering a frequency range of 5Hz to 40kHz, ensuring a controlled, full-range sound reproduction, whilst maintaining an impedance of 20Ω for easy pairing with portable devices.
Designed for both portable and stationary use, it combines a rigid mechanical design with a modular, detachable connector system, allowing the cabling and connectors to be adapted to suit the source being used. This approach enables it to integrate seamlessly into a variety of listening setups, whilst maintaining a stable signal transmission.
Dunu Kima 2: Driver and acoustic design
The Dunu Kima 2 features a dynamic DLC diaphragm driver, whose rigidity helps minimise distortion whilst improving transient response. This design is underpinned by an optimised magnetic circuit, ensuring better control of the diaphragm’s movement and more stable sound reproduction across the entire frequency range.
Its frequency response of 5Hz to 40kHz extends reproduction to the extremes of the spectrum, whilst its 20Ω impedance, combined with high sensitivity, makes it easy to use with portable sources, whilst keeping distortion to a minimum for consistent sound reproduction.
Dunu Kima 2: Connectivity, cabling and design
The Kima 2 features a detachable 2-pin 0.78 mm connector, allowing the cable to be adapted to suit the application, whilst the hybrid cable, comprising monocrystalline copper and silver-plated OCC, ensures stable signal transmission. This approach is extended by a system of interchangeable connectors, allowing for use with either a 3.5mm single-ended or 4.4mm balanced connection depending on the source.
At the same time, the stainless steel housing provides mechanical rigidity that minimises unwanted resonance, thereby contributing to stable sound reproduction whether used on the move or at a fixed location.
