The Dunu Vulkan 2 is a pair of new-generation hybrid in-ear monitors, designed to deliver wideband sound reproduction using a highly segmented acoustic architecture. Each earphone incorporates eight transducers per side (2 dynamic + 6 balanced armature), relying on four-way frequency management to cover the entire audible spectrum with clear functional distribution. This design aims for structured and consistent reproduction, where each register has its own mode of operation without compromising interaction.
In addition to this multi-transducer architecture, the Vulkan 2 employs a dual physical and electronic filtering system, enabling precise separation of frequency bands while ensuring smooth transitions between registers. This approach allows for a clearer reading of complex signals, while maintaining the tonal continuity essential for high-quality listening.
The acoustic heart of the Vulkan 2 is based on an advanced hybrid configuration, in which the bass registers are handled by two independent dynamic drivers. A 10 mm transducer dedicated to sub-bass frequencies and a second 8 mm transducer dedicated to bass frequencies operate in physically separate acoustic chambers, eliminating the mechanical interference phenomena typical of coaxial architectures. This structural separation allows for more controlled frequency response, while preserving the impact and clarity of the lower midrange.

This dynamic foundation is extended by a midrange section provided by two customised Knowles balanced armature drivers, calibrated to reproduce vocals and instruments with precise articulation and stable texture. For high frequencies, four dedicated balanced armature drivers take over, ensuring a smooth extension into the treble and ultra-treble ranges, while maintaining a consistent level of detail without artificial accentuation.
Signal management is based on a four-way crossover combining independent acoustic channels and precision electronic filtering. Each register has its own propagation path, allowing complete functional decoupling of the transducers. This arrangement improves the clarity of the sound message, while ensuring overall consistency between the different bands.
This approach ensures a balanced frequency response, where the density of the bass does not mask the midrange, while the treble retains its definition without harshness. The result is a consistent sound reproduction, capable of adapting to a variety of musical styles, fr om acoustic ensembles to more complex productions.

Thanks to its two isolated dynamic drivers, the Vulkan 2 delivers deep, structured bass. The sub-bass frequencies are extended significantly, while the low-mid frequencies retain their clear, rapid impact. This configuration allows for precise reproduction of bass lines and percussion, while providing a stable foundation for the rest of the spectrum.

This mastery of the lower end of the spectrum results in a broader soundstage and better separation between layers, enhancing the perception of depth without weighing down the overall sound.

The Vulkan 2's shells are CNC-machined from aerospace-grade aluminium alloy, ensuring both structural rigidity and control of unwanted resonance. This mechanical design contributes to the acoustic stability of the internal chambers, while ensuring durability suitable for regular mobile use.
The metallic finish, with its sober and uniform colours, is part of a functional approach where aesthetics derive directly from mechanical and acoustic constraints rather than decorative treatment.
The Vulkan 2 comes with a premium four-conductor cable made of high-purity silver-plated monocrystalline copper, assembled in a Litz configuration to preserve signal integrity throughout its length. This connection promotes stable transmission, limiting losses and impedance variations.
This cable incorporates the patented Q-Lock Mini system, allowing interchangeable use of the original 3.5mm unbalanced and 4.4mm balanced connectors.
