NF Audio's top-of-the-range NE4 Evolution in-ear monitors feature a very special design that allows the driver crossover frequencies to be modulated. In practice, their strength lies in the fact that all you have to do to change their configuration is to change the front panel. So you can use a 3-way (red and black) or 2-way (blue) front panel. A true chameleon, it is capable of offering totally different sound renditions. Users can play with the characteristics of the NE4 Evolution depending on the type of music they're listening to or the equipment they're using. Regardless of the front panel in place, they remain easy enough to control. A detachable audiophile cable with silver-plated OFC 5N copper conductors ensures enhanced conductivity for perfect signal transmission. Both sides of the cable feature standard CIEM 0.78mm connectors and a 3.5mm jack termination. A 3.5mm jack to 6.35mm jack adapter is also supplied.
The NE4 adopts a Knowless Balanced Armature 4-driver configuration (Knowles 22955, Knowles 29689 and Knowles composite 31736) for high performance over a wide sound field and high-resolution clarity.
The use of this front panel allows a rather classic 3-way configuration with one BA for bass, one BA for midrange and 2BA for treble. The result is a sound with deep, textured bass and a high level of dynamics. The NE4 Evolution features a frequency response of 9kHz-20kHz, with an impedance of 6 ohms and a sensitivity of 104dB.
The use of this front panel offers a 3-way configuration with one BA for very low frequencies, one BA for all frequencies and 2BA for high frequencies. The result is a balanced, soft and calm sound. The NE4 Evolution has a frequency response of 18kHz-22kHz, with an impedance of 10 ohms and a sensitivity of 108dB.
The use of this front panel offers a 2-way configuration with an all-frequency BA and 2BA for high frequencies. The result is a transparent, clean sound with detailed highs. The NE4 Evolution has a frequency response of 20kHz-30kHz, with an impedance of 22 ohms and a sensitivity of 110dB.
Changing the front panel is a simple matter, using the Allen key supplied and a clip-on part on one side of the earphone. Quick and easy, the operation takes no time at all.
The connection between the drivers and the various front panels is an essential part of the NE4 Evolution design. This part adopts military-grade spring probes with low capacitance and inductance. In addition, a layer of 10u gold plating ensures resistance to corrosion and oxidation, and a high level of durability.
The detachable cable with 280 silver-plated OFC 5N copper conductors and Litz wire structure ensures flawless signal transmission. Its structure offers low impedance, less skin effect for an open sound field and relaxed tonality. The NE4 Evolution features 0.78mm CIEM connectors, and the cable is terminated with a 3.5mm jack. A 3.5mm jack to 6.35mm jack adapter completes the package.
