The Thieaudio Hype 4 MKII are hybrid multi-driver in-ear monitors, designed as a direct evolution of the original Hype 4 to extend their architecture while enhancing their acoustic control. They feature the second generation of the IMPACT 2 subwoofer system, based on two 8mm dynamic drivers with composite diaphragms housed in a proprietary pneumatic acoustic chamber, generating deep, controlled sub-bass while effectively isolating the rest of the spectrum.
Beyond this foundation in the sub-bass range, the design relies on a new implementation of Knowles balanced armature transducers, organised around a dedicated frequency distribution. This approach allows for more precise management of the low-mid range, a better-defined mid-high transition and an extension into the very high frequencies directly integrated into the acoustic duct, ensuring extended and consistent reproduction without tonal breakage.
The Thieaudio incorporates the second generation of the IMPACT 2 subwoofer system, shared with the Monarch MKIV, based on two 8mm dynamic drivers with composite cones, housed in a proprietary pneumatic acoustic chamber to generate high infrabass pressure while mechanically isolating the rest of the spectrum.

Beyond this foundation in the sub-bass range, the sound reproduction is based on a new architecture of Knowles balanced armature transducers, developed without tonal compromise. Two Knowles RAB series units handle the low-midrange, promoting a dense and articulate texture, while an ED-33465 transducer is dedicated to the mid-high range, allowing for more legible frequency separation and a tangible improvement in imaging. This approach is extended by the integration of a Knowles RAD-33518 ultra-tweeter, positioned directly in the acoustic duct, allowing for an extension of the extreme high frequencies comparable to electrostatic or planar solutions, without adopting their constraints.
The acoustic tuning prioritises controlled impact and tonal warmth. The subwoofer delivers an elevation of approximately 9dB, while applying a sharp cut-off at 150Hz, preserving bass precision without encroaching on the midrange. The midrange features a measured boost around 400Hz, providing natural warmth while remaining neutral between transition zones, which maintains clear reproduction while remaining faithful to the original. The treble adopts a deliberately delayed decay, favouring the recovery of micro-details and the openness of the sound stage, while avoiding any perceptible aggressiveness.
This sound consistency is based on 4-way acoustic engineering, combined with a system of 4 acoustic tubes and 7 independent passive components, ensuring precise control of interactions between transducers. Mechanically, each Hype 4 MKII is CNC-machined from solid aluminium blocks, then finished and anodised by hand to guarantee structural rigidity and stability over time.
