Second generation of the DMP-A8, the network player EVERSOLO DMP-A8 GEN 2 retains the same technical foundation with its AK4191EQ + AK4499EX conversion architecture, while benefiting from significant improvements to the hardware platform, interface, network and audio processing.
This audiophile network player combines streamer, DAC and balanced analog preamplifier functions, with Hi-Res playback up to 32-bit / 768 kHz PCM and DSD512. It features a large 8.6-inch color touchscreen, 8 GB DDR5 + 64 GB eMMC memory, an M.2 NVMe SSD slot supporting up to 8 TB, as well as network connectivity including Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6 and SFP.
Its very comprehensive connectivity includes USB-B, optical, coaxial, HDMI ARC/eARC, RCA and XLR inputs, as well as RCA, XLR, USB-A, optical, coaxial, HDMI I²S, AES/EBU and Subwoofer outputs.
The DMP-A8 Gen 2 also supports numerous streaming services and protocols, AirPlay, DLNA, Roon Ready, Spotify Connect Lossless, TIDAL Connect and Qobuz Connect, etc.
EVERSOLO DMP-A8 GEN 2: AK4191EQ + AK4499EX DAC and AuralEngine
The DMP-A8 Gen 2 retains the conversion architecture of its predecessor with an AK4191EQ digital modulator paired with an AK4499EX DAC, separating digital and analog processing. This section supports PCM streams up to 32-bit / 768 kHz and DSD512, with two ultra-low phase-noise oscillators designed to limit jitter. The new proprietary EverSolo AuralEngine platform adds asynchronous digital processing combined with a high-performance DSP, while maintaining bit-perfect transmission depending on the modes used. The output stages use OPA1612 operational amplifiers.
EVERSOLO DMP-A8 GEN 2: Balanced R2R Analog Preamplification
The DMP-A8 Gen 2 integrates a fully balanced analog preamplifier with R2R volume control based on precision resistors and relays. It can therefore be directly connected to a power amplifier or active speakers. The XLR analog outputs deliver 4.2V, while the RCA outputs deliver 2.1V. The specified performance reaches a signal-to-noise ratio and dynamic range of more than 129dB in XLR and 127dB in RCA, with a THD+N of 0.000075% in XLR and 0.000086% in RCA. The frequency response extends from 20Hz to 20kHz (±0,.25dB). The outputs can also be configured to fixed level to use the device solely as a network player and DAC.
EVERSOLO DMP-A8 GEN 2: New Octa-Core Platform and DDR5 Memory
The DMP-A8 Gen 2 adopts an upgraded hardware platform built around a 64-bit octa-core processor, combined with 8 GB of DDR5 RAM and 64 GB of eMMC storage. This configuration enables smoother management of the interface, streaming applications, music libraries and audio processing. The device also retains an M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 slot in 2280 format, now compatible with SSDs with a capacity of up to 8 TB, allowing a large music library to be stored directly.
EVERSOLO DMP-A8 GEN 2: evotune™ Acoustic Correction and Advanced Bass Management
The DMP-A8 Gen 2 integrates advanced processing functions that allow playback to be adapted to the installation and room acoustics. It notably offers a parametric equalizer (PEQ), a room correction function, FIR filter support and advanced low-frequency management. A high-pass filter can be applied to the main speakers, while the subwoofer output crossover frequency can be adjusted between 40 and 500 Hz, in order to optimize the integration of the subwoofer with the main speakers.
EVERSOLO DMP-A8 GEN 2: 8.6-inch Touchscreen and Control
The DMP-A8 Gen 2 features a new 8.6-inch color touchscreen combined with a completely redesigned graphical interface. It can display album artwork, playback information, file resolution as well as different displays with animated VU meters. The device can also be controlled from the EverSolo Control application for iOS and Android or with the supplied remote control.
EVERSOLO DMP-A8 GEN 2: Hi-Res Streaming, AirPlay and Bluetooth 5.4
Thanks to its EOS system, the DMP-A8 Gen 2 provides access to numerous streaming services directly from its interface, including Qobuz, Tidal, Amazon Music, Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, HighResAudio, Napster, IDAGIO, TuneIn, Radio Paradise, SoundCloud and Presto Music. It also supports Spotify Connect Lossless, TIDAL Connect and Qobuz Connect, as well as DLNA and AirPlay. Wireless connectivity benefits from Bluetooth 5.4 reception and dual-band 2.4/5GHz Wi-Fi 6.
EVERSOLO DMP-A8 GEN 2: Gigabit Network, Wi-Fi 6 and SFP
The DMP-A8 Gen 2 features a Gigabit 10/100/1000 Mbit/s RJ45 Ethernet interface, complemented by dual-band Wi-Fi 6. An SFP interface also allows the use of an optical network connection, thereby electrically isolating the network from the player. The port accepts single-mode optical modules with single or dual fiber as well as copper Ethernet SFP modules, the latter sold separately. The player is also Roon Ready and can access music stored on a NAS or computer via compatible network protocols.
EVERSOLO DMP-A8 GEN 2: Dual Power Supply and Enhanced Isolation
The EVERSOLO DMP-A8 Gen 2 benefits from a dual low-noise power supply, separating the analog and digital sections in order to limit electrical interactions between the different circuits. This architecture is complemented by enhanced electrical isolation, helping to reduce noise and interference that could affect audio signals. The analog section therefore has a dedicated power supply, while the digital circuits benefit from their own power supply, for an optimized signal quality design.
EVERSOLO DMP-A8 GEN 2: Comprehensive Connectivity and Subwoofer Output
The DMP-A8 Gen 2 offers particularly comprehensive connectivity for centralizing the digital and analog sources of a HiFi system. It features 2 optical inputs, 1 coaxial input, 1 USB-B Audio, 1 HDMI ARC/eARC, 1 RCA input and 1 XLR input. The outputs include 1 optical, 1 coaxial, 1 HDMI I²S, 1 AES/EBU, 2 USB-A Audio, 1 RCA, 1 XLR and 1 dedicated subwoofer output, in addition to the RJ45 and SFP network interfaces. The optical and coaxial inputs and outputs support up to 24-bit / 192 kHz PCM and DSD64 via DoP, while the USB Audio and HDMI I²S outputs support up to 32-bit / 768 kHz PCM and native DSD512. The HDMI ARC/eARC input supports stereo PCM up to 24-bit / 192 kHz.
