AUDIO-GD MASTER 2 MK3 Power Amplifier

The Audio-GD Master 2 MK3 is a stereo power amplifier in a fully balanced dual mono architecture designed to drive speakers over a wide impedance range, relying on discrete stages combined with ACSS technology in order to maintain current-mode signal processing and limit internal conversions. It delivers up to 500W into 4 ohms, with Class A operation at the first power levels or up to 250W into 8 ohms, in order to ensure stable and continuous reproduction while maintaining a high dynamic reserve.

Intended for high-fidelity configurations, it integrates XLR and ACSS inputs allowing selection between voltage or current transmission depending on the associated electronics, while its adjustable gain levels and input parameters (impedance and sensitivity) allow precise adaptation to the preamplifier. This consistency between input interface and power stages allows maintaining stable behavior on complex loads, while maintaining a low noise level and thermal dissipation ensured passively without the use of ventilation.

Audio-GD Master 2 MK3: Power and output capability

The Master 2 MK3 delivers 30W in pure Class A, then extends its operation up to 250W into 8 Ohms or 500W into 4 Ohms in Class AB when current demand increases. This transition allows maintaining a constant bias current at low levels while releasing a higher power reserve during dynamic demands.

The output capability reaches up to 1000W into 2 ohms per channel, which reflects an ability to maintain stability on low impedance loads. This continuity between operating regimes allows maintaining consistent amplification behavior regardless of the requested power level.

Audio-GD Master 2 MK3: Power supply and electrical stability

The power supply is based on multiple toroidal transformers combined with a large filtering capacity, organized according to the dual mono structure in order to isolate the channels from the energy generation stage. This configuration allows maintaining a stable voltage while ensuring current reserve availability when speaker impedance varies.

The circuit also integrates a soft-start system, which controls the voltage rise at power-on in order to limit stress on internal components and on the electrical network.

Audio-GD Master 2 MK3: Thermal dissipation and integration

Operation in Class A up to high power levels implies a significant bias current, handled by a thermal dissipation based on large passive heatsinks. This design allows heat to be dissipated without the use of active ventilation, while maintaining continuous amplifier operation.

The whole is integrated into a aluminum chassis structured to separate the different internal sections, which helps limit interactions between power supply and amplification in high-power configurations.
