Gain Setting
The Master-9 returns in a 2019 Edition, bringing a new gain adjustment feature. Indeed, the Master-9's gain can now be set to High and Low modes without changing the amplifier settings and therefore without affecting the sound quality. The gain control is as follows:
- The "L" (Low) mode has a gain of 16dB, allowing headphones with a sensitivity of more than 100dB to be powered or to function as a preamplifier.
- The "H" (High) mode has a gain of 25dB, allowing headphones with a sensitivity between 80 and 100dB to be powered.
- Mode "S" has a gain of 31dB, allowing headphones with a sensitivity between 80 and 100dB to be powered with a low level source (available on RCA and XLR inputs).

Audio-GD's Master-9 is one of the brand's flagships. Thanks to a highly intelligent design and exceptional quality, it is able to offer a precise, rich and dynamic sound reproduction. Thus, the Master-9 ensures an unrivalled musicality in this price range.
Connectivity adapted to all configurations
The Master-9 has no less than 5 analog inputs to meet all needs: 2x RCA, 2x XLR, 1x ACSS. The "preamplifier" outputs are made of RCA, XLR or ACSS and the headphone output stage is composed of one XLR 4 pins, two XLR 3 pins and one 6.35mm jack output. The result: great musicality thanks to exceptional dynamics and a rich, extremely detailed sound.
Balanced / Discrete / Class A / RCA / XLR / ACSS
This preamplifier / headphone amplifier has a completely symmetrical design in which all components have been matched by hand. The power supply of the various elements is provided by no less than 8 parallel Class A power supply groups.
The 100% discreet design of this amplifier (no AOP) is supported by a digital relay volume controller. The RCA connectors are 24k gold plated and the Dale resistors as well as the WIMA (UK) and Solen capacitors have been specially manufactured to Audio-GD specifications.
ACSS
Audio-GD has its own technological signature called ACSS for Audio-GD Current System Signal. Thanks to the firm's expertise and know-how, this technology offers a less colourful, more detailed and neutral sound. When the ACSS output is used, the XLR and RCA outputs are muted.
Class A
A Class A amplifier has the particularity of having all its active components always in conduction. They fully amplify the input signal, thus limiting harmonic distortion on the output signal. The signal output from the Master-9 is therefore of excellent quality, due to the absence of this famous crossover distortion of sinusoidal alternating frequencies.
